It's all about the power of the mind. you can see the concentration on extremely fluffy fluffy thing's brow. she hasn't moved a muscle since 1.28pm. (she is probably still trying to remember why she did that 2nd move).

Heatseek has a glint in his eye (are you a he?)
He's forming a plan and knows that if extremely fluffy fluffy thing does not remember her original tactic she may well fall into heatseeks extremely hot trap. does she realise what move F6 - E4 could develop into?

The posting I made at 7:52 pm was a little experiment. I am hoping that there is a handdrawn image saying "I have gone mad" which I created myself. I know that I can see it if I am logged on, but if I am not logged on, the image does not appear.

Can someone who is logged on please confirm whether or not they can see the image. Thanks.

Thanks for that, Fluffy. I'm back to normal.

I was just doing a little experiment, where I created a Gif file from Paint, downloaded it on to the gagajoyjoy site via the Add Attachment on a posting. Then did the posting on this thread with the image linked to the file on the gagajoyjoy site (as I would not want to have a direct link between my computer and the forum - even if that's possible).

Downsides are that the attachment is restricted to 300k and that the resulting image is not visible unless you are logged in.

Oh right. You mean that if I was just viewing as a guest I would just see a blank space in your post. No writing.?

That's right, you would just see a space with a little box with a red cross in the corner to show that the picture was not available. Subject to the downsides, the attachment method looks as if users can create their own pictures in the form of GIF files for use in their postings.

This is one possible use. Create a little Excel spreadsheet with sizing the cells to that of a chessboard. The background colour of alternating squares can easily be changed from white to give the appearance of a chessboard. Download a chess font (there are such fonts). Create the chess position that you wish to show. This can of course be saved which would be useful. Select the 64 cells of the board and Ctrl-C or Copy. Go into Paint and paste the picture. You need to set the size of the Paint screen to the size of the image. Use the Save As function and select the GIF type.

You can now download this on to the forum via the Add Attachment method as I have described above.

Caveat - I haven't tried this out in detail but it should work in theory.

This is the result of my experiment from above.

There are a number of chess fonts on the following
http://www.enpassant.dk/chess/fonteng.htm

I downloaded the Chess Alpha 2 font and installed that. I created an Excel spreadsheet setting the width of cells to 3 and the height to 20. I set the font size to 18.

Black pieces are I pawn, J bishop, K knight, L Rook, M Queen and N King. White pieces are the same but lowercase.

I created the diagram, copied and pasted into Paint. I set the attributes for the Paint screen to 210 by 210. The rest is as described above.

These are appropriate for my pc setup but yours may be different.
