Yes... we got ours yesterday..... We will fill it in, but having looked at the design of the form, it leaves a lot to be desired, IMO... I may try to fill in in on line, but wouldn't be surprised if the site gets clogged up, seeing as we are all supposed to fill it in on the same day!

Not had the form yet, but will fill it in. The last ones in 2000 caused a major row in Wales.
Under the nationality/ethnicity section, you could say you were English, Scottish, Irish and a whole raft of other categories - but NOT Welsh.
They said it was a "mistake" that they've put right this time.

I see the Humanists are having a push to get people to put that down this time. I quite like the Humanists tbh, I have been to a few funerals and naming ceremonies conducted by them and they were really moving and personal.

i read the other day, not to put jedi (which i was going to do..) cos the gov allows so much money for each faith and the money goes to waste if you put jedi..dunno if thats true, so dont shoot the messenger lol

So.. when all the forms are in.. & the data mainly ignored unless there is a need for some numbers to validate some government initiative collected & analysed ...    if the religious bit doesn't come back as an overwhelming majority of citizens being Christian, will they stop saying we are a Christian country?

Mine arrived today and it does say that you should complete it on the 27th or as soon as possible afterwards. That's because who have to list everyone staying overnight on the 27th including visitors. There's a section on the form for visitors.

You can do it anytime I think and your submission is held?

What's the visitors thing all about? The census is designed to take a snapshot of the population of the country, not what you had for dinner or who you managed to drag home for a leg over ffs! HOW nosey!

And on the English census form question 17 is left blank, but on the Welsh form they have an extra question:

And the detailed results will eventually go online, so everyone will be able to see who was in the house.

 I have been trying to think of a public resource type question that they would be unable to answer without the census taking place..  & I can't think of one.

School places - child benefit records & current primary school records (plus lots of other records) could answer that one.

Hospitals & GPs - I KNOW they don't use the census for that allocation

Roads - DVLA data

Rail - yeah right

I just don't buy it..     For a start, if this information was that important ... if it was the main data that public spending was budgeted on...   do you think they would trust us to fill the forms in ourselves?   It would be more like passport application forms..   one full stop too many and it would get sent back for resubmission.

that wouldn't bother me at all. .I consider myself British. .only thing English about me was the fact I was born in the English bit of the British Isles to immigrant parents. . there is no English Blood in my family at all. . I don't have any particular affinity to any of the country's in the list.  but I do feel I am British.. 

may be I should kick up a stink that there isn't a British box for me to tick
