Not so sure.  Think he wanted a change of career - hence the tour of the Dales with camping kitchen on the back.

It pissed off Rick Mayall because Mayall wanted to re-vamp The Dangerous Brothers etc.  Ade wasn't available (or too keen).  Mayall sneered and slagged him in a newspaper interview subsequently.

Also, I get the impression that he's busy on his farm + Jen working means he's a bit of a home bird.
