A reminder to all those watching that tonight's episode starts at 20.00 rather than 21.00.
Next week's semi-finals are on the same days and times as this week as are the finals the week after.
Tonight starts with the Knowledge and Skills Test. They first have to identify four spices, then make brandy snap biscuits filled with two different creams. (brandy snaps have nothing to do with brandy, it's thought that the brandy just means burned as in branded).
The visiting chef is Alex Rushmer (who was a finalist in Mastechef back in 2010). The recipes focus on vegetables, no meat or fish.
