Day 3: It's good to be free

As someone once sang; 'it’s good to be free'.

Finally, after 48 hours of slumming it and rifling for scraps, the CBB basement crew are free to roam the luxuriant surrounds of the bungalow. They had to sacrifice Frankie to get access to the heavenly creature comforts they’re accustomed to, but even the diminutive jockey is overjoyed at the turn of events. He ran to the upstairs, breaking through the garden cage with a massive beam across his mush. To be fair, his default setting is grinning like a loon – but honestly, this particular smile was pretty intense.

Ryan indulged in a quick-as-a-flash scrub up and change of clothes before being accosted by his new housemates, all of them apparently Neighbours fans and overwhelmed in the presence of the one they call 'Toad'. Well, you would be, wouldn't you?

If Frankie and Ryan could accurately be called 'happy', there isn't a word invented to describe Razor’s joy at his admission to the upstairs paradise. He ripped off his shirt at the news before hot-footing it to the tub for a soak. He's 'aving a bubble – and we ain’t even joking.

Sam the Scottish heartthrob was equally keen to get himself clean. Tentatively dangling his legs in the pool, after a moment he couldn't resist tearing off his togs and throwing himself all the way in. After that, he grabbed himself a shower and who should turn up for a bath at the same time? Only Lacey. Forgive us, but we suspect that may have been her way of expressing an interest in the lad from Dundee.

After the essential cleansing wipes and wardrobe changes, the entire household somehow found itself involved in a jubilant Steps singalong, banging out hits from Tragedy through to 5,6,7,8 - perhaps in preparation for the party BB's promised a little later.

We'll be honest, readers – the blissful scenes fair brought a tear to our usually slightly cynical collective eye. Sometimes it's nice to just soak up the good vibes, isn't it?
