Day 3: The talking 'bout my generator task

If housemates want a cooked breakfast this morning then they are going to have to generate some power themselves as cheeky old Big Brother has switched off all the appliances.

Speidi were up at the crack of dawn and the pair of sharp tools spotted the prank but don’t fret, they won’t be rubbing two sticks together to make fire, BB has a solution.

Housemates in the main House were called to the sofa and told to pick two basement dwellers to fire up the back up generator in the garden.

To be successful the duo must turn a large crank located in a vat of leaky oil to build up an electrical charge.

And it’s going to get messy. The temperamental old machine will be doing its best to hamper their efforts. They must push the crank clockwise while trudging through slippery black oil (gunge). A gauge in the garden will display their efforts and if they stop at any point, the charge will drop.

Frankie and Sam have been picked for the challenge.

If they complete the task, housemates will receive a hot breakfast. If not, they might just end up with a cold shoulder.

Day 3: Hell-razor

Who let the Razor out? Oh yeah, no one. He thought fate was going to smile on him last night during the basement swap. But fellow sportsman Frankie chose Speidi to return to the lovely warm House instead. It seems a little part of Razor broke with that decision.

The 1,000 yard stare has formed a large part of the former England player’s morning. Looking rumpled in the same blue shirt he’s been wearing for three days he has now roused himself with a few songs, that – now we listen – are prison marching songs. He might actually be happier as part of a chain-gang.

Now spent, the very stubbly reality TV veteran is back to sitting on his mattress staring into the middle distance like a man who’s just had his house repossessed. His stillness is emphasised by the fact that Ryan and Sam are dealing with their confines with furious exercise. Sam’s doing sit up and Ryan punching the air. They’re Tasmanian devils to Razor’s stone statue.

Day 3: The generator game

With the kitchen appliances out of action, it was up to Sam and Frankie to secure the housemates a hot breakfast.

Getting kitted out for the dirty job, Sam struggled to get his boiler suit on – what with those pecs and guns, we’d find it a squeeze too.

Razor commented: β€œYou guys look like Top Gun and his sidekick, Tom Cruise and Maverick.β€œ We know what you mean love.

Considering the main House housemates were still in their jimjams, the boys did look pretty hot.

The question on the tip of our tongues was, would pretty boy Sam get his hands dirty? He certainly made sure his hipster quiff was standing to attention ahead of the challenge.

Frankie was all about the tactics and said: β€œWe need to be nice and easy, keep it consistent.”

The twosome got off to a strong start, showing themselves to be particularly talented when it comes to running round in circles.

Lacey led the cheer squad with Rylan helpfully shouting comments including, β€œtake your top off and start wrestling.” What a hoot.

Despite a strong start the pair soon began to struggle and despite battling on with gritted teeth, they stalled causing the generator charge to drop.

Sympathetic main House housemates had nothing but kind words, offering shouts of, β€œIt’s so not fair. We’d rather not have electricity.” Really. Are you sure about that one?

But the boys had a second wind and got the generator going – hooray! The first thing the housemates did was make a nice cup of tea...but there was a twist. Obvs.

BB had two cooked breakfasts to offer - delicious luxury breakfast of bacon butties, pastries, fruit and coffee or a bog standard one from a tin. The main House got to decide which set of housemates received which brekkie – which way do you think they voted?
