Day 5 round-up: Rise to the challenge

Today had a very Mission Impossible vibe, with tasks-a-plenty to keep those housemates on their toes. Just the way we like ‘em.

Big Brother kicked off the day with the first shopping task. Challenge one was a wonderfully aesthetically pleasing game we like to call Pass the Pass. In essence, the game mostly involved passing various weird and wonderful foodstuffs from one housemates’ mouth to another. Delicacies included raw fish, nothing wrong with that, we love a bit of sushi, but a bull’s penis – perhaps not.

The fun and games did not end there, and Big Brother couldn’t resist putting some more amusing items in our celebrities’ mouths.

Big Brother appointed Rylan the official ‘hot’ chocolate taster, summoning him into the Diary Room to delve into a selection of chocolatey treats. But this was not an innocent leftover from a Christmas selection box, as half of Rylan’s confectionaries were chilli flavoured. In the end Rylan coped with BB turning up the heat, and emerged victorious.

The celebrities had one more task in store for them in the evening, a new game called Kissing Balls, involving the antics of a container full of unruly floating ping pong balls. Very Quidditch, indeed.

As the housemates began winding down, with Ryan delivering some hilarious helium impressions in the bedroom, and Tricia igniting the House in a Chicago singalong, BB wasn’t quite done yet, pulling Claire into the final part of the shopping task. She was stuck in a room listening to 5, 6, 7, 8 on loop. Sounds like heaven, but maybe not after the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th time.

But BB hadn't quite tired the housemates out, with Rylan, Claire, Ryan, Gillian, Lacey and Tricia having a bit of a post 1am secret knees up in the igloo after a hard day's work.

What will BB will have in store for our housemates tomorrow...

7.45am: Morning housemates! That's alright, you lot carry on sleeping

8.06am: Still no sign of life.  are usually wandering around by now - maybe they're getting comfortable in the House

8.22am: We still have 11 sleepy housemates.

8.38am: Light snoozing is still the dominant audio coming through our speakers. Snoozey snoozey snoozle.

8.56am: We have movement! Speidi, as always, are the first to stir. MORNING

MrsH

9.12am:  are whispering in the darkness. Razor's still fast asleep, gulping like a bulldog gasping for air

9.25am: After a burst of conspirational morning chat, Speidi are back in the land of nod. The alarm can't be far away now.

9.38am: The HMs are peacefully snoring. Apart from Razor, who sounds like a trapped wasp

9.59am: Still no sign of wakefulness in the  bedroom. Make the most of the snooze, housemates - we've got plans for you today.

MrsH

10.12am: The alarm bells are ringing - up and at 'em housemates.

10.17am: Heidi "I hope there's an election today" Razor looks confused "I've been in America too long. I meant eviction" D'oh!

10.33am: Spencer's tucking into a yoghurt. Or 'yoh-gurt' as those American types tend to pronounce it.

10.34am: Paula's never-ending supply of bandanas. Today's is light blue, FYI.

10.43am: Razor's doing an impressive impression of Wilfrid from the Bash Street Kids

10.52: Lacey and Rylan are still sleeping, which is naughty. We'll start calling them 'Ry-lie-in' and 'Lazy' at this rate. Ha ha ha.

MrsH

11.03am: Speidi wonder which tourist attractions to see in London. Piccadilly Square's on the list. (Someone tell them it's a Circus).

11.06am: Housemates are being gathered on the sofas. Something's afoot! We're monitoring the situation.

11.13am: Costumes have been delivered for the next part of the task. Razor's is a treat - pic to follow

11.20am: The incredible hunk?

11.27am: Frankie's worried about the goggles he's been provided with. He fears BB's planning some horseplay.

11.43am: Rylan's checking himself out in the mirror. It's all gone a bit 'Blue Steel'.

11.48am: Paula remembers BB asked her to gather HMs at the dining table ages ago. She's still not - so BB does it instead

11.56am: The HMs are goggled-up and ready to go - but will they be taking a dip?

12.12pm: Tricia reads out the instructions to the group. Razor intermittently chuckles and grimaces at the gunge-talk.

12.18pm: As they wait for the gunge activity, Razor talks to Rylan about hernias. The details are frankly ghastly.

Day 6: The housemates face a gunging in today's task

The 'Against the Odds' shopping task continues today, with a gungetastic game of 'True or Falls'. Two of the housemates will be called to the Diary Room to answer multiple choice questions about the other housemates – two of the answers will be false, the other true.

The gloopy twist? The housemates in question will be sitting on a chair suspended above a delightful vat of gunge - just what they wanted on this chilly Tuesday afternoon. If the housemates in the Diary Room choose the correct answer, the housemate will continue to sit happily on their chair, smug in the knowledge that they have been saved from a sticky bath. However, if they answer incorrectly, the housemate in question will plunged into the gunge, quicker than you can say 'Drop me out'.

For every housemate that is saved, the housemates will win three passes for the finale. However, for evey incorrect answer, they will lose three passes.

So, how well do the housemates know each other? Enough to save each other from a rubbery demise? Let's hope not,  it'd be a shame for that pool to go to waste after all.

MrsH

1.12pm: Lacey faces the  next. 'It's scary up 'ere!' she wails, fiddling with her goggles.

1.15pm: Lacey's gunged! Heidi and Paula didn't guess right that she's thinking of releasing Banghard-branded condoms. Rylan's up now...

Celebrity Big Brother UK: Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt need the money!

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt [Celebrity Big Brother 2013)
  •

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are hoping that Celebrity Big Brother 2013 will be easy money for them.

The pair of reality telly stars were amongst the twelve Celebrity Big Brother 2013 housemates who entered during Thursday night’s live launch show.

Heidi and Spencer, who will be competing together as one housemate, are set to scoop a cool £150,000 EACH for taking part in the three week long show.

A source claims: “Heidi and Spencer are desperate for more TV work they think that CBB will be a easy job and quick money.”

They explained: “They lived in the jungle for the US version of I’m A Celebrity so they’re sure they can handle hanging out in a house for a few weeks.”

So far the pair’s stay in the house hasn’t been great, having spent their first night in the house in the basement.

The husband and wife duo only met most of the other housemates three days into their stay after previously refusing to leave the squalor of Big Brother’s basement, where the Hollywood couple had been forced to cope without running water, beds and food.

Their snub saw every other housemate nominate them during Sunday evening’s nominations, leaving the pair facing the first eviction tomorrow night.

But a confident Spencer boasted on last night’s show that their UK fans would “save the day”.

Let’s hope so!

Day 6: The HMs take a plunge in the gunge

Paula and Heidis' knowledge of the housemates was put to the test earlier today and, lucky for us, it was a bit ropey in parts. Click on through to see some very gungey housemates (tee-hee)...

Claire was up first and managed to avoid the plunge. So far, so good.

Next came Frankie, who also escaped the gunge...

And then Ryan was saved. At this point, we gave up any hope of seeing a gunging.

Until Gillian was plonked in the pink stuff... FINALLY. Credit to Gillian, she took it well.

And another one bites the dust...

Hey, why are all the girls getting gunged and not the boys?

Never mind, Razor more than made up for it... Mr Blobby springs to mind.

His hair stays intact. Sam is very smug about this.

Tricia skips a heartbeat and takes a tumble in the gunge.

Spencer striking his victory pose. It's no mobot...

As Paula was unable to take part in the task, Ryan took the chair for a second time. Unfortunately for him, it was second time unlucky...
