Day 20: Shopping Task - BBTV

As the housemates sleepily awoke on their last Monday in the House, they were greeted by the sight of some rather interesting props in the garden. A giant toadstool, a brightly-coloured windmill and a cheery rainbow had the housemates wondering what on earth the day would bring. Ashley got very excited, and had a little "la la laaaaa" burst of song.

In order to win that all-important luxury shopping budget, they will be starring on TV for the next two days.

Wait a minute, hold up...aren't they already on TV? Well, yes. But this task, BBTV, will see them be on TV, while they're on TV.

The housemates will all be given new roles best fitting their specific talents.

House authority Julie will be presenting BBTV News at random points throughout the day, rushing to her news desk to report breaking news bulletins whenever Big Brother plays the news theme music.

Prince Lorenzo will use his lovely story-telling skills to narrate a children's TV show called The Growlers, as Martin and The Situation play the parts of Twitchy and Itchy Growler, smiling all the while.

Those knowledgeable sorts Ashley and Harvey will be contestants on BB's quiz show Ask 100, where they will be quizzed on the public's opinion of the housemates.

Tomorrow, Coleen and Julian will be the all-smiling, all-selling hosts of hopping channel Big Brother's Big Deals. We can't wait to see their product range.

At the start of the task, the housemates will be given a DVD, which tells them how many sections they must successfully pass to receive the luxury budget. But of course, BB doesn't like to make it that easy, so they will only be able to play the DVD and find out that magic number tomorrow.

When housemates aren't starring in their own shows, they will be required to view the other shows. Well, naturally; who would want to miss The Growlers? Quite...

Day 20: The tranquil trio

The nominated housemates – Martin, Lorenzo and Julie, have awoken on this sunny Monday morning with extremely cheery dispositions, all things considering.

Julie was up with the larks, as she so often is, and spent most of the morning pondering in the bedroom whilst the others slumbered on. Maybe she used this quiet time for some contemplation, as she was in high spirits when she later chatted in the garden with frenemie Coleen.

"I've loved my time in here" she declared, seemingly feeling much more positive about the eviction after a good night's sleep. The only thing she fretted over is what she'll wear for the occasion – we're taking a guess that it may involve leopard print, but it's just a hunch...

First time nominee Martin has been his usually smiley-self, spending the morning working out in the Big Brother gym. The eviction hasn't really been on his lips – in fact he's spent more time talking about healthy eating and his gym routine. It'll take a lot more than a possible eviction to faze the Kempmeister.

And the Prince also seems to be relaxed about the whole affair. Well it is his second time after all, he's been there, done that and probably has a brightly coloured polo shirt somewhere.

But there is one thing that's got the housemates talking this morning – this week's shopping task. They're in the dark about what's going on at the moment, but you don't have to be. Here's a lowdown of what'll be happening over the next two days, it promises to be good telly indeed.

Day 20: You've got a friend in me

The two Jules' have struck up quite a friendship during their time in the House, and with the eviction looming ever closer, he's beginning to worry for his new BFF.

Sitting in the kitchen earlier, the stand-up comedian tried to get his head around the public's reaction to the Corrie actress - but if it was sympathy he was looking for, he turned to the wrong person in Coleen, who dished out a few home truths about his buddy.

"I don't like the booing or chanting for anyone, but she must be doing something to get them", the Nolan sister rationalised.

Julian hesitantly agreed, stating that something may have happened during the Gods and Mortals task which could have shown her in an unfavourable light. However, this didn't seem to ease his worries.

Talking about  the eviction, he stated "I don't like the idea of her having to stand in front of the baying mob", adding that no 70-year-old woman should  have to go through that.

An unconvinced Coleen was having none of it, "You have to be responsible for you own actions... regardless of your age".

A loyal friend to the end, Julian wouldn't say a bad word against the grand dame of soap, musing "Well she makes me really laugh".

What a pal.
