Celebrity Big Brother plans 'live

bombshell' next month

By Thursday, Jan 22 2015, 14:33 GMT
Celebrity Big Brother is apparently planning to hit the housemates with a "live bombshell" early next month.

Listings for the first week of next month suggest that on Monday, February 2, viewers will be treated to a two-hour Celebrity Big Brother extravaganza.

At 8pm, Channel 5 has listed Celebrity Big Brother: Live Bombshell, promising that Emma Willis will be live in the studio to give a big surprise to the remaining celebrities.

Meanwhile, at 9pm viewers can tune into Celebrity Big Brother: The Fallout as the stars react to the explosive news they have just received.

Digital Spy got in touch with Channel 5 but they are staying very tight-lipped, refusing to comment on what the bombshell could involve.

The next Celebrity Big Brother eviction will take place tomorrow (January 23), when either Alicia Douvall, Calum Best, Nadia Sawalha or Perez Hilton will be voted out of the house.

Celeb BB final date, ‘bombshell’ live special confirmed

The hour-long ‘Celebrity Big Brother: Live Bombshell!’ special has been scheduled at the unusual time of 8.00pm on Monday 2nd Feb.

The usual midweek eviction will not take place the following night, leading some fans to speculate that the surprise will involve a mass eviction to cut down numbers for the last few days of the series. However, details of the twist are currently being kept secret.

Its 8pm timeslot means it will clash with BBC One ratings juggernaut EastEnders, as well as the second episode of Channel 4â€ēs winter sports competition The Jump. As it will air before the watershed, it is also certain to be heavily censored.

‘Live Bombshell’ will be followed by another episode of CBB at 9.00pm. Some listings have also suggested this will be live, billing it as ‘Celebrity Big Brother: The Fallout’.

C5 will then premiere 10,000 B.C. at 10.00pm. The new reality show – which follows 20 people as they attempt to live under Stone Age conditions – has been heavily promoted during CBB, and chiefs will be hoping the live twist will provide a bumper ratings lead-in.

Meanwhile, the broadcaster has confirmed that Celebrity Big Brother will conclude on Friday 6th Feb with over three hours of programming.

The live final is due to air as a 110-minute show at 9.00pm, with spin-off Bit On The Side following between 10.50pm and 00.15am. However, it is possible that the lengths of the two shows will be tweaked at a later stage.

This means that the current series of CBB will last for a total of 31 days, making it the longest ever by four days.

The previous record was set by Channel 4â€ēs final series of the show, which ran for 27 days in 2010. C5 equalled this last January by extending the thirteenth edition from its original 22 day limit.

The thing is though that once again the producers don't get it: this series actually has been quite shocking without any need for manipulation. Think about it: there's only been one proper eviction, but another three HMs have been removed (although technically one walked...  )

I don't generally watch CBB as you know, so the only comparison I can think of is BB5, which took four weeks to have a proper eviction...
