I'm pretty happy for housemates to have opinions unless those opinions become unacceptable, just because Biggins is gay, he is not exempt from making criticisms of bi-sexuals, especailly as he probalby has no real facts to back it up.
Well in that case the BB house should be nearly empty, you can't discuss, challenge someones views if they are silenced or removed from the airwaves...this isn't healthy.
I agree.

Maybe they should get a set of real celebrities who have intellect and can discuss many topics without straying into inflammatory territory instead of the losers they always get because the owner (Desmond) knows that he can get continual mileage from the contracted zelebs in his magazines.
Should also be noted that he owns porn channels - speaks volumes,.
My thinking on the Biggins thing is that he must've been warned and warned again... he was a regular on BotS, so you'd think he'd be their darling. They didn't kick him out for nothing, or on the whim of an X factor reject.

I'm all in favour of that, but Biggins was having an intellectual discussion, he just said things that some "may" find offensive, but would it have killed them if he had stayed? would anyone have been so disgusted that he wasn't removed just because he held those views? I don't think so.
James might say something people don't like next, should he go too? anyone who is intelligent and has an opinion ( of left field) need not apply for BB then.
prettycocoaeyes posted:Kaffs posted:prettycocoaeyes posted:Kaffs posted:prettycocoaeyes posted:Baz posted:Sorry , but that is pathetic !
Absolute bullcrap. i thought it was much more serious. I said it he should never have done this show. wow. What a mess.
More serious than blaming a whole section of society for Aids?
It was a terrible comment I agree, he should not have made those terrible comments but he should have been given a final warning.
From what they said to him though - he's obviously had more than one warning. What I find scary is that he still found it perfectly acceptable to spout his crap after he'd been told more than once about it.
I thought it was 3 strikes and then gone? I agree his comments were terrible but it was a harsh way to deal with it. Bear who has been absolutely vile is still there.
[I'm in the process of catching up on tonight's episode, and am working through this thread as I do so.]
AFAIK, and contrary to a commonly-held belief amongst BB fans, BB hasn't operated a "3-strikes" rule for many years.
They brought the "3-strikes" rule in for BB3, but never had any cause to invoke it, and as a result they didn't bother about it for BB5. As it turned out that was fortuitous, because if it had been in place for that series then more than half the house (including the eventual winner, Nadia) would have been removed! It's often said that Kitten was removed for "3-strikes", but officially she was removed for "persistent" rule-breaking (basically, her rule breaks were dominating the first week).
Part of the reason for getting rid of the 3-strikes rule was that it wasn't flexible enough: if a HM did something really bad, then technically BB couldn't evict them until they committed another 2 similar offences. A good example of the replacement system in practise (again from BB5) was Michelle getting her "first and final" warning for instigating the camera-burning incident. We've seen echoes of that in this series, with Aubrey being given a "formal and final warning" for the spitting incident.
As for Biggins: I may come back to this, but the problem we have as viewers is that we don't know the full story about his "Nazi" comments towards Katie and their repercussions. This incident apparently happened on Monday, but we're only officially hearing about it now, and only in very vague terms. It's quite possible that he was issued with a "final" warning earlier in the week, but we simply don't know for sure.
Kaffs posted:Rosgirl posted:Baz posted:Sorry , but that is pathetic !
considering what Bear has done -agree - Bear is an utter moron
Bear is a complete moron, but that's not an chucking out offence or the house would empty pretty quick.
I feel Biggins has probably had a lot more to say that we've not been privy too.
It is indeed increasingly looking like there's a lot more to this than we've been told.
During the DR discussion BB referred to comments Biggins made to Katie on Monday, but didn't go into details.
On Friday, DS went into near meltdown when a regular DS FM known for inside knowledge and "scoops" posted an alleged transcript of these comments, in which Biggins supposedly made inadvized remarks about the Nazis and concentration camps, which he then tried to pass off as a "joke" when Katie (who's Jewish) got upset.
BB have since claimed that the transcript was a fake:
http://www.msn.com/en-gb/enter...&ocid=spartanntp
However: since leaving the house, Biggins has done tabloid interviews which suggest that the transcript - if perhaps not entirely accurate - wasn't far off after all, and there may even have been other comments we don't yet know about:
EMOTIONAL Christopher Biggins sobbed as he apologised for the sick Nazi gag which got him booted off Celebrity Big Brother.
He revealed that after being rapped by show bosses he begged house pal Katie Waissel for forgiveness.
The 67-year-old actor said: âI found Katie and said âI am mortified. I would never do anything to upset you. I love you and Iâm really sorryâ.â
Biggins had earlier made a concentration camp âjokeâ to the Jewish former X Factor star, 30, as fellow housemates rowed in the bathroom.
He said: âYou better be careful or theyâll be putting you in a shower and taking you to a room.â
Panto star Biggins, axed from the Celebrity Big Brother house in his underpants on Friday night, had made earlier controversial comments about Aids and bisexuals.
Yesterday Biggins insisted: âI am mortified by whatâs happened, really mortified. Most of my friends, in fact, are Jewish. I apologised to Big Brother and Katie.â
He was given a formal sanction by bosses on the Channel 5 show after the "incident" on Monday, which was not broadcast.
He said: âI love Jewish people. Listen, my best friend is Lesley Joseph. You canât get much more Jewish than that.
âI have a lot of bisexual friends and Iâm not in any way a bigoted person. Iâm 67 and I love everybody. I live in Hackney and I have a lot of black neighbours who are fantastic.
âItâs just not in my vocabulary that word. So to be chastised for those sorts of things is very sad.â
Biggins said: âKatie is a very sensitive girl with a few issues.â
That evening they were sitting in the bathroom while other housemates were using the showers.
He said: âIt was getting a bit heavy, people were fighting around us.â
It was then that Biggins made his shocking statement, which he now admits was a reference to the Nazi concentration camps.
He said: âI suppose I was, yes. But it didnât occur to me thatâs what I was referring to.
At the time, she laughed and then gave a shocked reaction to me. Quite rightly.
âShe didnât say anything. I donât think she walked away immediately. We sat there for a little time and it wasnât evident she was offended.
âIt is like a sort of prison in there because thereâs no way out. Youâre stuck in there and you donât know whatâs going to happen next.â
Biggins, who won ITV jungle reality show I'm a Celebrity in 2007, was summoned to Big Brother's diary room by bosses.
He said: âThat was the first time I had ever been taken into the diary room to be given a formal warning. I said I was terribly sorry.â
Biggins said: âWe were really good friends and there was no animosity, weâd cleared the air days before.
âShe never raised it again with me. I donât know if she even raised it with anyone.â
Viewers were unaware of what happened until rumours began to leak out on Friday.
Biggins said: âI think Channel 5 were trying to protect me by not screening it.
âI think itâs unfortunate that someone has decided to leak the story. Then they had to do something.
âI was called into the diary room so I went along in a shirt and underwear. They said theyâd warned me twice now and Iâd broken the rules so they were going to evict me.
âI honestly thought it was a joke or trick.
âSo I sat there in total disbelief. They told me to exit by the left-hand door so I thought maybe my partner was going to be there as a surprise.
âBut in fact there was a casting director, a producer and somebody I didnât know.
âThey said: âWeâre so sorry, this is terrible, we believe in you.â
âI wasnât really taking it in. I walked in my underwear out of the house and was just in disbelief. I didnât get to say goodbye to anyone. I was so stunned and so shocked.â
