Me neither, I was just referring to his dress

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

Former reality television stars Heidi  Montag and Spencer Pratt have learned the hard way that being famous  comes with a price.  The money rolled in for years as they watched their  stars rise.  They blew it all on clothes, cars, and, of course, plastic  surgery, but now the couple is basically flat broke.

It was just five years ago that Montag and Pratt were the stars of MTV’s hit  show The Hills.  Now both of them say they they are totally  disillusioned with reality television.  They have spent all of the money  and are currently living at a home owned by Pratt’s parents because they can’t  afford to pay rent.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, Montag says she regrets all the plastic  surgeries she has had and wouldn’t do it again.

Montag said:

“Obviously I wish I didn’t do it. I would go back and not have any surgery.  It doesn’t help. I got too caught up in Hollywood, being so into myself and my  image.”

Montag and Pratt said they got so sucked in by the Hollywood lifestyle that  they have already blown through all the money they put away for Montag’s music  career.

Prat also says he “probably spent a million dollars on suits and fancy  clothes. My million-dollar wardrobe — I would never wear that again. They’re  props.”

Prat continued by trashing the whole concept of reality television,  saying:

“We were living each other’s mistakes — everything we were doing, in  retrospect, was a mistake. The second we continued on our quest for fame was a  mistake. This isn’t a business. That was the big thing I didn’t get: Reality TV  is not a career. Anyone who says, ‘Oh, you can have a career in reality’—that is  a lie.”

Pratt also talked about the culture of shows on MTV, which are driven by  controversy and ratings.  He said the producers tried to convince him to  force his sisters to hit “rock bottom” and to try to get him into a fist fight  with her.  The goal was to generate a buzz like when Snooki got hit in the  face on MTV’s Jersey Shore.

Speaking of the incident Pratt said:

“That’s when I snapped. To the point when I said — and this is when producers  got scared of me — ‘You want me to punch my sister in the face? Are you trying  to get me to kill you?’ I didn’t say, ‘I’m killing you,’ If I did, MTV would  have had me arrested.”
