If it is a urine infection, the sooner they find out, the better. So, you did the right thing telling them to check it out.
Urine infections aren't that bad, with medication it'll clear up in a few days.
Some antibiotics will clear it up quite quickly.
Saint, sorry to learn about the worry you're having about your Mum, a urine test should determine yes or no as to the confusion she's having. I hope all will be well...smilies are 't working for me but sending a hug
