Wifeswap - what have I missed?

I feel sorry for Big Ron..I don't believe he himself is racist, but what he said was ugly and hurtful..Lets not forget Big Ron was the first football manager to use black players in his teams. He made household names of many..I do think he needs to be forgiven, it will do him the world of good..I hope Charlotte is the other person up and she goes, she is just one irritating attention seeking mess..

All the black players that he helped build a football career all said that he is no way a racist, I trust their judgement.

yes - he does - but in our PC society what an awful thing to say - didn't know that = when did it happen??

I can't remember exactly but he was mad at one of the black players.......yet he was the manager that brought blsck players into the Premiership, so the saying was very bad and racist, but his past actions were far from it.....bit of a puzzler

He was off camera but his mic was on and called a black french player a lazy n----. it is puzzling as he did bring black players into premiership. Only him knows what his mindset was. I do feel sorry for him though. I dont think he should have done BB.

Does that make Carol a racist for saying that word?  if people accuse Ron (wrongly) of being a racist then so is Carol.

my step-son mixed race-always rings his black mates& starts convo with 'yo nigga' carol repeated a famous convo what ron said..no malice

Other black players said he wasn't racist....but why choose that word? He could have called him a lazy git and he'd have been OK, very puzzling

It's not right somewhere.

I don't think it was right that Ron lost his job over saying one wrong word...it's his actions that count, not one mistake.

There was a radio discussion about this issue and a journalist pointed out that it may not have been of Ron's making to bring on the black players but a decision by the FA to instruct him to do so.

Some say its from the time he was born. It is puzzling though since he helped black players.

It's not right somewhere.

Such a difficult question, I would not know where to start to right the wrong of using a terrible racial slur. His managerial career would not suggest someone who has a dislike for black players, but saying something the way he did has people wondering if he has a more deep seated problem which he manages to hide very well most of the time.

I would hope it was one terrible mistake on his part and one that he bitterly regrets and has no basis on his real feelings and attitudes to black players.

I still think that those HM's who do not know his story may want to know or via a different line of questioning get to  the point where someone would enlighten them.

Vids, football was reeling from racial abuse at all levels.. no one can condone what Ron said.  Neither can it just be ignored.

All I'm saying is that he paid the penalty, moved on from the situation (albeit slowly and eventually)...and now someone has just transported him back to square one.  He has no control over what she's repeated.

When it happened I can remember feeling so dissapointed in him, I've forgiven him because I do believe he's an ok guy who made a dreadful mistake.

It's his story to tell though, isn't it?

It's not some off the wall madness (TOWIE or Geordie Shore) - it's serious stuff!  And he said it.

If he WAS in the house to bury the racist tag then he's failed solely because of Carol's indiscretion.  She didn't just give a brief outlne, she said the whole kit and caboodle!

Whatever the actual wording and argument and reason, BB was very happy to air it. Carol was just the excuse to do so.

They keep her because she is beautiful-Zeze didn't last two seconds because she looked like an over fed goat..

ah well we all knew it anyway

Yeah, we did.  Louie didn't.

I reckon he did. He knew enough about Ron to put him up with the excuse that he wouldn't know enough about football to spend time with him yet he acted completely ignorant about him as Carol explained about Ron's indiscretions to him.
