!n 1980 my sister's friend's cat had 4 Kittens - 3 female and 1 male, We were going to take them all, but the male died within the first two months. So we only got 3.

I was fine with them, however in 1986 I got married and left the house. When I came back to visit my mum a few months later, I found that I was now allergic to the cats.

Fortunately it was a fairly mild allergy, I got a bit snuffly and had to be careful not to rub my eyes after stroking them, but that was all.

Which is just as well, because in 1993 my mum (and the two cats that were still alive) came to live with hubby and me and the cats lived on to 2001.

P.S.Strangely, they both died the same weekend as each other.

awww he is looking quite majestic there!  Someone I know has two of those little bengal babies coming this friday

For those people who like cats but are allergic, bengals may be the cat for you, they are known to not react the same allergic reaction in people who are normally allergic to cats. This is because they have a pelt rather than domestic cat fur that is slightly different.

I am allergic to cats, although it didnt stop me having them in the past, (i just dosed myself up all my life ) I recently wheezed my way round the blue cross but had absolutely no reaction to a room full of bengal cats and kittens when we went to see them recently.

True gypsie they don't cast their hairs like other cats.

My sister has (had) two Bengals. One died quite recently .................................they are very beautiful cats.

I've only ever had run of the mill moggies - our last one lived to 16 years old - the current mog (Willum) is 15 - very sad but she has to be contained to the kitchen/utility/conservatory area - she is lovely but has never been a lap cat and will piss and spray at will wherever. I love her dearly but in all honesty - it'll be a bit of a relief when she's gone and I don't think i'll ever get another!

Cats are the best animals. They do what the f**k they want, they have nice homes but can come and go as they please (unlike dogs). Most of em seem to have a great time. I bet they sit and take the piss out of other house pets like dogs and rabbits.

My youngest cat Wispa Barton is still bad and all in all a bit of a headcase, i've posted numerous threads complaining about her behavioural problems in the past, but really it's her personality, I wouldnt wanna change that!

My other cat is a boy and he just couldnt give a shit about anything, cars, buses, dogs, you name it, he won't move for anything if he's having his wash or scratching himself, the buses have to wait for him to finish what he's doing and then vacate the road. I'm amazed he's lasted this long (15) really! But he's cool!

Your male cat sounds the same as mine. Nothing bothers him. Not even the mad dog running circles around him, he just sits and watches the dog, sort of yawns and doesn't budge an inch.

The dog thinking the cat was a toy (dog is stupid) jumped on cat once, Sooty put his paw with said claws out and the dog never jumped on him again.

But that's all to do with me too Gyps.  In a weird roundabout way.  I was born in Durham, and the Pink Panther theme tune is 'dur-ham, dur-ham' etc etc.

you have a strange cat connection.... *is a bit worried*
