Two of them were killed by the same tiger

Sorry misread your post
So could have been avoided if they hadn't been sold an inbred.

I don't doubt they loved them but if at all possible look after them in their own enviroment. That said I cannot dispute that they loved them.
Yes perhaps instead of putting them down,he could have put them back into the wild.Like those two chaps did with their Lion cub they bought in Harrods.
The two cats that he had to put to sleep were reared, from birth. by the Hallidays and were far too old to be put into the wild. They would have been unable to fend for themselves.
Ron Halliday did the responsible thing in having them put to sleep which ensured they would not suffer in any way.

What was it?
To be honest, I found it hard to feel much sympathy for them, you work with 25 stone carnivorous animals, don't be too surprised if they act like big carnivorous animals. Maybe the first death should have been a clue about the tiger
There was a film on last week, Grizzly Man or something, about this egotistical idiot Timothy Treadwell. He'd spent 13 seasons 'protecting' (i.e. making deluded badly acted films which were more about himself than grizzlies), living in a camp right in THEIR territory, and by the end of the film I was glad the bloody bear ate him. The only tragedy there was that he had taken his girlfriend along (she seemed to be half sane and aware of the dangers) and got her killed too.

I saw the Timothy Treadwell film as well, fracas. The bloke was a bliddy idiot, who frankly got what was coming to him.
Whenever some fool "lion tamer" gets mauled, or a bullfighter gets gored, I'm always a little bit pleased.

Yep Deman, the man was an eejit.
Daft humans treating huge wild animals like domestic moggies,I only feel sorry for the animals when the inevitable fall out happens.
I was more shocked by him describing Chuck as being like a son to him, then 5 minutes later telling us how the three of them were having 'relationships' together
PS. I only watched it to see the mauling.
PPS. I once saw a video on Youtube that showed a woman having 'relations' with a tiger
