I'm not sure I'd be bothered.

I stepped in a massive cow pat in bare feet recently.  Absolute monster it was.  Didn't really care - just walked it off on the beach, in the sea and then the sand dunes.

Plunged into a dog turd two days later - with my shoes on, thank Christ - and it was all I could do to avoid throwing up.  I felt really nauseas.
