With a drastically new haircut and high praise from all the judges, Katie Waissel must have thought she'd turned a corner and left all the controversy behind her last night.

But while X Factor contestant put in arguably her best performance of the series on the show, she won't have been in a good mood today.

Poor Miss Waissel has suffered a devastating blow after discovering that her grandmother is a high-class escort.

According to the People, Katie's 81-year-old maternal grandmother Sheila Vogel charges up to £250 per hour for sex through a website called Vintage Vamps.
