been to a car boot never sold at 1 though, auctions on ebay i try to get things but always seem to get out bid at last second.

I used to in England and made money in both and still have somethings put away for resale one day....

I did one boot sale when I had stock from my shop to get rid of - was really early & bliddy freezin - absolutely never again

Gumtree is your friend

Every auction/ boot sale counts. I want to hear of people who made or lost money on their purchases. Have seen Gumtree and EBay but wonder wether they buy from boot sales/auctions and re-sell there for profit?

Jonesy there used to be a FM on BBGF who ran a profitable business on e-bay,most items sourced for very little outlay at car boot sales and sold for big profit on e-bay.

Never done either.........I ain't got anything worth anything

what you have to do is  go to auto bid and  put in the max you would  ever want to pay for the item, so it has to be realistic,  whatever its  worth to you, then let the auto bid work for you, no one ever wins anything worth having by doing it manually.

auto bid will never bid above your max price you set.

had  a car boot a few times but even when you are selling something really cheap the buyer wants it for less!

My mum used to do it regularly. Never made a vast fortune, but did get a nice sum over time.

I've sold at boot fairs a few times, and have also found some great bargains. My best find was a very rare Beanie Baby a few years ago which I bought for £1, and sold on eBay for almost £150.  I've sold loads and loads of stuff on eBay over the years, and probably my best sale was a collectible M&M container which I bought on eBay for £10 and then sold for £355.  I used to collect M&M dispensers and toppers, and bought  a very rare topper for 10 Euros, and then swapped it with another collector for over £500 worth of dispensers.    There are still lots of bargains to be found on eBay, particularly when people mis-spell or misdescribe items.

I'm a regular ebayer but never been to a car boot sale.  I love buying and selling on Ebay, seeing how much someone is willing to pay for a dress you haven't worn in a year is strange but exciting.  I bought a top brand new with tags from Ebay for £8 incl delivery and kept tryin it on but didnt like it and it went with nothing so I put it on Ebay again although I had removed the tags so listed as used.  Somoene bought it for £39 even though there was another on sale on Ebay for £20 with tags.  Very strange but I was a happy bunny!  Oh and a Primark coat I had bought for a tenner went for £25.
