To be absolutely honest with you Summer..    even though I had grown up with a dog, I was completely unprepared for the puppy experience.

It was like I had a baby.... no, it was like I had a newborn Toddler in the house.    The first two weeks were exhausting.

You may need to book a couple of weeks leave for the initial settling in period

Ain't that the truth.....Ruby is a little shit in some ways...cannot be let of the lead, escapes etc...but in other ways is good as gold....she's never snarled or growled ever at anyone and wonlt touch asny food int he house unless she is expressly told she can....my daughter spilled gravy earlier and put her dinner down right next to the dog while she got a cloth to clean it and the dog didn;t even sniff it let alone steal any,

If the mating works this time, then between us we can take 2 weeks off when the pup first comes home, it would then have to come to work with me for 4 days and mr summer will be off for 2 weeks over Xmas.. Which would be great, so keeping those fingers crossed! Stream certainly does whatever she wants, but was pretty good when I walked her off the lead. She's a farm dog and has never been trained to do anything, since moving in, my SIL has finally got her to sit, but she doesn't do it all the time

reminds me, jade was recently looking very sheepish as she walked back into the living room, my mum said "what have you done", she looked up at her (sideways, you know the way they do that when they know they have done something wrong!!), and she had my mums false teeth in her mouth, the right way round too, my mum said she looked like something off that Dentastix advert

wish i had seen it, even more wish i had filmed it for you've been framed

Also, I got talking to a neighbours friend with dogs last night, he's training his Rottweilers for crufts! Not my favourite breed I must admit, but they were stunning dogs. One of them had caught a burglar the night before too; he was walking in the park and the police appeared, chasing a burglar! When it became apparent that they weren't close enough to catch him, the dog owner set his dog away. Not knowing what she would actually do, he watched as she charged ahead and pounded her paws into the burglars legs, knocking him to the ground and allowing the police to catch up, and arrest him They wanted to do a piece for the newspaper but the dog owner declined, for their own safety.

It would be great, Summer. When will you find out if Stream is pregnant?

Well done to your neighbour's Rottie.

she went to the dog groomers for the first time on Saturday - she is really fluffy and soft at the moment

Aww, I love when Keira comes back from the groomers, smelling beautiful and all soft and fluffy.
