Oh right.  I`m a technophobe Aquarius but I did wonder if it might have something to do with your browser. Contacting Lori would be best. I hope you get it sorted but meanwhile stay logged in.    

No Saz.  Normally when I sign in its with my email addy and my password registers automatically.  Since the changes more often than not the password doesn't automatically register and a pop up tells me I'm using the wrong password.

I've ticked remember me and it's autofilled if I've signed out and go to sign in.

I have the same problem on IE. I never sign out, but a few days ago it asked me to sign in, no problem until I get to the password. The pointer doesn't seem to go right to the left hand side and it's rejected. I have to go into FF (which doesn't refresh ).

That sounds pretty much like my problem too cologne.  I'm waiting to hear back from Lori then it sounds like IE could be getting the boot.

I was using FF, but after reading your tales of woe I tried getting in with IE....and have had no problem. So it looks like it might not be a straightforward IE problem per sé.

I gave IE the boot last year when gaga changed and told us to update. I did and it screwed up everything on my computer, so I'd rather put up with FF not being quite so professional.

It could be the old problem of the page not loading properly, even though it may look like it has.

Well for good or bad I've changed to FF cologne.  Not sure I like it much but it gets me on here.  But then I'm at a funny age not liking change of any sort.

I just hate change TBH .............silly really but that's how it is?

Interesting to hear that it's happened to more than one of you (don't worry, Aquarius--you're still special! )

What version of IE are you using, Aquarius? How about you, cologne? And Fluffy? 

I'm on IE8 - to be exact, 8.0.6001.18702 - I'm on it now while typing this post, having just logged in again, to check that it's still OK for me. It is, had no trouble getting in.

One small quirk though (that's not causing a problem). Usually when you type your password you get a 'blob' for each charagter you type. Well, I'm not. All I see is the insertion point moving to the right.

That's a hint, though. I'd still like to hear from Aquarius and cologne. Interested to see if they have the same version or a different version than you.

There is a thing, Lori, rather than start a new thread, what is with the new mobile version of Gaga?! its alright, but if you want to read the last page of a really long thread, it is a nightmare!!****blink****

Hmmm. Here was my experience when I tried to do that:

I chose masterchef, which has 971 replies, so I think it qualifies as a "really long thread".

Once in there, i touched the little gear icon in the upper right hand corner, and then selected "Jump to Bottom". Within a second or two, I was taken to the bottom of the last page.

What happened for you?

I dont have a little gear icon...though that maybe coz I am not signed in on my phone....I will have a look tomorrow and let you know! All I know is, in the five minute breaks I get here and there at work, if I try to read the masterchef, or mad cat laydee thread, I can't because of the amount of scrolling through I would have to do, with all that said, since the changes, I have not actually logged in from my phone.... **tit**

I just tested that: if you aren't signed in, you don't get the gear. So, it's a simple fix: sign in and hit the "remember me" button so you don't have to do it again!

Someone posted about a similar problem some time ago on the Social Strata help forum - it doesn't seem to have been resolved yet.

It seems to apply for IE7 and IE8 but not on IE9.

El Loro: Thanks for that! It allowed me to find the bug report I was looking for and post accordingly. Still would like to know the which version Aquarius and cologne are using.

I'm using IE 8, just worried about updating because last time it messed with my then computer so much, I couldn't cope.

Hi Lori.  Like Cologne, I'm on IE8.  The weird thing is why its only happening now.  For the last 2 years I've had IE8 and never had sign in probs.

Fluffy I'm in the same club as Soozy, most of this is beyond me.

My operating system is Vista but Mr. A had to tell me that.  He said this morning that my housekeeping was a disgrace and he nearly got the rolling pin till I found out he meant computer housekeeping.  Anyway he defragged me (get me with the lingo) and gave me the rolly eyes treatment.  In other words, you are hopeless.
