Gender identity is also geographical. As in where you live determines what rile you should play according to your birth gender.
There is an island in the Caribbean (the name escapes me at the moment) where many baby girls are born, but when some of these girls hit puberty they actually grow a penis and from birth were boys but it did not become apparent until the onslaught of the puberty hormones., in that society no-one bats an eye lid as it is deemed quite normal.

Me too for my bachelors....but that was in 1981 I distinctly remember going out on a given day and buying every British children's mag/ comic to compare and contrast. In the Beano, ( I think it was, or maybe the Dandy, it was along time ago!) the only female depicted in there apart from one, (little Mo??) was an image of a woman going EEK 'cos there was a spider LOL!Reference:

My 'favourite' (please note inverted commas!) was, in the press on the same day about 4/5 years ago there was a female teacher who had had full intercourse, oral etc. etc. with a male student and a male teacher who had fondled a female student. The male got sent down, the female didn't because she was, the judge said, "too pretty to abuse"
