Sounds like something my grandparent's plants had this year. They cut out the affected bits and just had to hope. Sorry I can't help more.

I read that if you place green tomatos in a bag with an over ripe bananna it turns them red..

Well, I grew exactly three tomatoes last year

all green so I picked them as they
were about to fall off - I left them in the sun - but NOUGHT!

If you pick tomato's,and wrap them in some newspaper,put them in airing cupboard or some other warm place they will turn red,Sorry thats as much as I can help.

sounds like blight. Been happening to a lot of tomatoe plants this year - not seeding properly

Some things are doing well this year while some aint... tommyartoes are not so good this year so it is not just you.They are taking much longer to ripen than they usually do!

We have had periods of dull weather intermittent with bright hot dry weather... it really has not been consistent this summer. This could be the reason.Because the tommyartoes are staying on the vine longer the leaves are losing their colour... just take them off.. There is still time for yours to turn red.... green house or outside? you have not said! My outside ones are not too good this year... hey ho it is swings and roundabouts!
Alternatively you can make green tommy' chutney or even green tommy jam!

They started out in a grow bag in a tiny greenhouse but went bigger and bigger

They have been in a sunny outside spot growing up a rather impressive frame for about two plus months now

I fed them tommy food but ran out so didn't bother continuing the process as the tommy's were huge!

Thank heavens it's not just me!

I feared that VICTORIANS had struck at me fruit type veggies

my toms were kept in a greenhouse on an allotment along with the extremely large courgettes (more like cucmbers), plenty of runner beans/cabbage/cauliflowers, its been a really good year this year

I've even been told that _{african tomato plants} aren't doing well this year either. Same thing not seeding & blight

Lincolnshire is a very large county!

Several people I know have had some trouble this year,even someone who usually helps to supply a green grocer has not done as well!
I have stuffed courgette coming out my ears now! mind you I love them !

Perhaps you are in the Boston area?

Mine are doing well this year, though slightly slow ripening. Think that's down to the lack of sun.

Lil, leave them on the plants until the weather starts turning cooler, then pick them green and all and wrap in newspaper. Last year that's what I had to do to mine.

My freezer is bulging with green beans this year. It's been a good year!

My tomatoes are also not ripening this year..... but after the summer we've had.... I'm going to try picking a few putting some in my little greenhouse, and see what happens.

I usually just cut the brown leaves off and feed the plant.
They will turn red eventually (she says hopefully!

My tomato plants all eight of them ended up with green fruit, then they started dying from the root up, leaves wilting and going brown, it was a virus in the soil, lost them all.Picked most of the tomatoes off but only a couple ripened. Very disappointing.
