Use milk, eggs and black pepper (I hate salt so never use it) and sometimes I put a splash of wostershire sauce in it.

Break eggs(I do two eggs for 4 slices of bread) and beat in a cup.
Add milk (I do it by eye so am hopeless at giving measurements).
Pepper and Woster sauce(3-4 splashes)
Put into a bowl dip bread in it put on hot clean hot pan. Turn eat. Da daa

Yup - that's exactly how I do it too.

I still do put it on the eggs though. I fry the bread soaked in the egg and then put the sugar and lemon on. And if there's any excess egg I put that in after so it's a weird...flat egg thing and that gets a coating too. It's lovely!

There's no difference between eggy bread & French toast. When I lived in the north west it was known as French toast and when I lived in the south east it was known as eggy bread, so I assume it's a regional or a class thing.

PS Charli, I don't usually bother with the milk but if you do only use a splash or it'll make the bread a bit soggy. I always use black pepper and salt though. Thumbs Up
