No, I'm trying to make a serious point here. People often try to pass off offensive remarks by saying "it was only a joke". And yes, I do think people should have to think about everything they say. If they offend, they should be prepared to apologise.

Us deaf people can take a joke, the thing I personally find really offensive and hurtful is the way some people look at me as though I'm an idiot when I have to ask several times for them to repeat themselves.........well in my book, they're the idiots. When I tell them I am deaf, why can't they speak a bit louder and more clearly instead of mumbling........grrrr

I've had people get frustrated and snap at me "are you deaf" in a sarcastic way....well..um....yeah, and have been all my life.

another thing which pisses me off is the way some people laugh at me when I misunderstand what they have said....i hate being laughed at for something which is not my fault.
