Has anyone been to a burlesque show and if so is it much more than fancy stripping?

An Evening of Burlesque
Friday 30th May 2014

Join us for the slickest, wickedly wittiest, most delightfully choreographed cabaret spectacular of the year!

Arriving direct from London's West End, the world’s original touring burlesque spectacular is about to hit town with a spectacle that sparkles from its elaborately-decorated headdresses, to it's immaculately varnished toes.

The most glamorous form of entertainment comes with an abundance of couture costumes whilst boasting a combination of sultry vocals, breathtaking choreography, mischief, magic, frivolity and fun. An Evening of Burlesque mixes musical and theatrical parody, cutting-edge variety, magic, comedy and dance with the art of striptease.

Get your friends together, dress up and come to the cabaret where the most glamorously-dressed member of the audience will be awarded a prize they'll treasure forever!

Forget about your troubles for an evening and enjoy the thrills and spills of modern day burlesque while you immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere you can only get from the sparkle, glitz and glamour.

In the early 70's I worked for Avis Car Rental and was sent to Cologne/Bonn airport because my English was better than anyone elses. While there, all staff got hugely cheap flights and, as I had a very good friend in Berlin, I used to fly off there after my shift and come back after 2 days for the beginning of my next shift. Anyway, Berlin had this fantastic vibe (as it always had) and burlesque was everywhere along with French music and the odd genius piano player.

That must have been great Cologne - I'd heard about that Berlin vibe.
