My niece and her partner went a couple of years ago to a holiday resort there, they loved it.
Mousaka?
Ok - that's Greek - so i know nothing
Two of my neighbours have been a couple of times, they seemed to enjoy it.
Scotty springs to mind.
But I don't think she followed her astrologer.
And there was I thinking you were going to ask about Uncle Bulgaria
I went to Bulgaria when I was 13, and it was still communist at the time. It was the most bizarre thing, because we went half board, but you got vouchers, and because everything was state owned, it meant you could eat in any hotel or restaurant, you weren't limited to the hotel you were staying in.
. . . which is no help what-so-ever

Well she was asking for help - that's all

You posted a one word answer, which wasn't helpful, so your point is?
Well i know nothing helpful
And you . . .
i went whever princess diana died, i know this because they did a lot of 'ladee di di, ladee di di' at us while we nodded and did a scared smile at them.
Loved it, we were in Sunny Beach ( ). I will go back again. Safe, well as safe as any other holiday resort.
And you can go one a day trip to visit Draculas castle mwhahaha
Well it's nice to know some history about a country you visit. I imagine many under a certain age didn't realise that Bulgaria was part of the Eastern Bloc.
I also know that around the Golden Sands resort there are a lot of jelly fish, so if the OP's son is going there, that's a handy thing to know.
AND, I also know that the best salad to eat in Bulgaria is the Shopska salad.
Plus, if you're a 13 year old girl with blonde hair all of the waiters will try to take you to the disco (well 28 years ago they did).
The mafia would go around on a wednesday for their pay in and out of every hotel. there was also a massive poker comp on, they closed a whole block for invited guests only.

She's making all that up - she's drunk
My first words were Bulgaria, why?? I assumed it would be Ibiza, dont know why, but thanks guys x
El, that was me too
It seems to be 2 weeks at Sunny Beach, my main concern is their safety plus 6 lads under 21
I was lucky to get out alive.
If I didn't have dual nationality god knows where I'd be.
Outer Mongolia probably doing some oliogarch's shoes
I am thankful he isnt a 13 year old girl with blonde hair
Not so sure about the Mafia tho

I think if you bothered to take an interest in something outside of yourself you would find it's all true.
But it's nice to see you using a new excuse to blame for our postings, rather than the old shit of menopause.
Ach it doesn't matter where they go Skylark, you're still gonna worry.

i know, but its easier when you can jump in a taxi and pour them in it, Bulgaria is a bit far for that

Just tell them to watch out for jelly fish.
Eat a Shopska salad.
And hope that they don't bump in to a cry baby
Check Roy Walker and Frank Carson if you need tips.
Or sack your agent.
Renton, you do have a strange fascination with menopausal women...
He does.
I do don't

To be fair ( and I don't know why I am being), I brought menopause up, BUT probably because of the reasons you stated
This might be helpful

Honestly my 13 year old memories were all good about the country.
It was just the Communism that was all odd to me. I remember there was a party of Russians in our hotel and under no circumstances were they allowed to talk to us (they got shipped on to a bus every morning and bought back on the evening after a day of sight seeing), then they would send shots of vodka to me and my sister (despite our parents sitting there) and I remember my Dad saying just pretend to drink it. OH yeah and some bloke offering my Dad money to buy my sister and I because of our blonde hair.
Actually in hindsight, it puts a lot of perspective on the eastern European blondes porn industry.
I'd be well chuffed if my daughter chose Bulgaria...
I thought I'd got off lightly with Greece (aged 17) and then last year Barcelona (aged 18)... they still managed to find trouble though... luckily, not serious trouble (though from some of the tales it was a bit close for comfort a couple of times)..
You've had a result Skylark... I'd have expected Ibiza or Ayia Napa or similar!
I have never been to Bulgaria... but my (totally uninformed & presumed) impression is that they should be safe as houses there
She started it !!! LOL
Hey don't use my excuses as your excuses.
Does your Mam still know you're on the computer? She might be very cross.
Can I ask a serious question?
That was rhetorical, I'm going to ask the question anyway.
Who is paying for these holidays abroad? That's to OP and Ditty, who just said about her daughters hols.
I'm just asking.
