I read it as unbearable too, odd isn't it, and I have only seen it on the TV but the Angel of the North looks pretty unbearable to me.

High rise flats hate them I went shopping in  Birmingham years ago.. Spaghetti Junction what an eyesore and very confusing ..came back home with nothing,I now use the train if I go to Birmingham

I rather like Didcot  tbh.

It is, good view when you're on a arrival flight back to Birmingham airport though.

I did think that a more appropriate adjective than unbeatable could have been used for the feature.

Driving up to Birmingham and around the West Mids is fine, Dudlerrrrr is nice too the Black Country is a nice little drive....but as for the mess that's in the middle

Karma we spent more time in the car trying to find our way about it ended up a wasted day lol I like shopping Birmingham but it is so much easier by train

That reminds me of the day I forgot to turn off at Ikea on the North Circular - it took me two and a half hours to find my way back there

I used to have to go there 2-3 times a week for work, never bothered to stop to shop. Just in and out as quick as humanly possible


The M4 drive is a lot nicer than the M40 or M1 drive I have to say. Bristol's a good place for visiting and shopping Once did a drive from Glasgow to Loch Lomond and the hills/cliffs/mountains/whatever they were were pretty breathtaking. (They all look the same to me but apparently there is a difference).

Milton Keynes is just one long straight road from the M1 (and back on to it), it's the roads off it that are a nightmare. Sat nav all the way

My husband never lost his cool very often but he did that day he blamed me for wanting to shop in Birmingham and I blamed him for not knowing his way around he said they had the same shops were we lived .. not true  we were sat in silence most of the journey home he was furious and I was sat there with a big glum face

I think there are a few people sprinkled around here that will testify to the fact that I think it is a hideous monstrosity and that it's designer and all people involved in the decision to construct and erect it should have been strangled/drowned at birth!

I don't have one.
I was trying to do without.
But I think I may have to succumb.
