please explain Ninja...either I dont have a clue or I am tired so put me right please! Big Grin

That's what parents who are overly protective or overly involved in the lives of their kids are called. Whenever there's any difficulty at all, the parents drop in out of the sky to help. You hear it used to describe when parents attend university interviews with their offspring and stuff like that.

glad you said that Daniel, I thought it was cos they hovvered Blush

There wasn't one act who I thought deserved to be in the final tonight. I actually can't STAND that lad who 'danced' a-la-George Sampson. His act just left me cold. Disappointed And I think he thinks he is amazing. I have put my opinions on Hollie Steel on the 'twitter reactions to Hollie Steel' thread. (On page 3 or 4...) All the other acts were shit or average IMO. Frowner

A;though i personally dont agree with parents who force their kids on TV at age 10 years .............I really wouldn't describe her as a helicoptor parent. The little girl in qustion was 10 years old .....she broke down on live TV FGS ......if the mother hadn't have been around I think we'd have all been asking why not.

IMO it was perfectly reasonable for her mum to step in (although not really reasonable for the little girl to be in that position) if you get my drift.

I agree with you entirely, CP. I just don't see the appeal of that sort of 'dance', if that's what you can call it. The people who do it just make me think of hyperactive epileptics, and people rave about this 'talent'! Confused

And yes, all the acts tonight were utter crap! Nod

Thanks barolo Smiler I thought George Sampson was shit and I think this lad is too... (Aiden is it???) It's just bollocks to me. It looks like he is making it up as he goes along. I just don't 'get' him OR his act. If he wins, I don't think I shall watch BGT again. Frowner I think Susan Boyle may well win as she has very little competition, because IMO, half of the acts in the final are just crap. Frowner

What little I saw of BGT tonight (it actually sent me to sleep!!) I watched stone-cold sober . . . maybe a few drinks might have dulled the pain a bit! Wink

The standard last night was the lowest in a pretty poor week.
Leaving aside the Drama and furore surrounding Holly Steel, and simply focusing on talent:
I think she has a very thin, squeeky little voice (yes I know she is a child, but nevertheless thin and squeeky). She did not hit all her notes accurately. She should not have attampted those final rising notes, which sounded terrible. And of course she forgot or froze.
Staggered that she is in the final. Her "talent" such as it is did not appeal to me.
The dancer boy I thought was aided by back-screen technology. Just focusing on him alone, I thought he was just fairly ordinary.
Poor lot last night.
And tonight there are people in the final who I think should not be there based on talent.

I absolutely agree with everything you say, brisket. Those notes that the girl sang at the end should have been the final nail in the coffin that contains her dubious 'talent', instead of which she was admired for it!

The style of dancing that the other child did just does not appeal to me - it's just hyperactivity with an epileptic twist!

Children under the age of 17 should not be allowed to enter the competition, imo. The gormless public vote on the cuteness factor rather than raw talent which is very, very wrong.

We'd be far better judges! Wink

By the time Hollie got to the end of the song only dogs could hear her.
