Exactly! They should insist on a minimum age requirement of at least 17

Hi Barolo Wave, totally Nod it's not right to see these kids heartbroken on live TV when they don't make it and them crying on stage.

But Holly, she's so brave getting up there, having the whole crowd behind her and her mother holding her hand.

She puts Great Ormand's street to shame really.

Piers Morgan needs to shurrup and get a grip.Ah Mary_Bee your 3 Teddies didn't get through and that BRAT did...its not right. Shake Head

I agree that the Mum is probably quite a tyrant, but it's clear that she's taught her her devil daughter well. She is the brat from hell.

Hi Darlo. That, plus the fact that their 'talents', dubious as some might be, haven't yet developed but they somehow solicit the votes from dewy-eyed numpties who go for the 'cuteness' factor.

Personally, I'd like to see Hollie's mum put in the stocks and pelted with fruit . . . . pineapples and watermelons etc!!!! Wink

Plus they are too young to deal with all this press interest etc, they should be focused on school first. Pushy parents are to blame.

Exactly ..........more to the point why do parents put their kids up for this at such a young age? if they have talent they will succeed eventually when they are emotinally ready for it. Why rob them of their childhood?

I saw an interview recently with Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf who are letting their kids have fun and enjoy their childhoods .........obviously both of them have had wonderful careers and started really young but they both expressed the fact that they didn't really have a childhood. It's something you can never get back.

I saw that interview too - weren't they lovely?

Did you watch them playing tennis in the newly revamped Centre Court on the Sunday afternoon? It was great seeing them both on court again.

Yes I did .....it's like a fairy tale really isn't it? what a lovely couple they make and they take pleasure in going to the beach with their kids and doing 'normal' stuff ....don't think either of them had that.

That's what parents who are overly protective or overly involved in the lives of their kids are called. Whenever there's any difficulty at all, the parents drop in out of the sky to help. You hear it used to describe when parents attend university interviews with their offspring and stuff like that.
