there were some good ones in there...  (castles & non-castles)...   there were some pretty dull ones too.

Out of that lot I've physically wandered round/along/through 8. I've seen St Michael's Mount from the mainland.

However I've visited lots of other places that didn't make the list, more in Scotland than in England though and I.ve never been to Wales or Ireland, though I did see Ireland's East coast on a very clear day looking out from a 'viewpoint' in Wester-Ross on Scotland's west coast.

I've been to The Royal Observatory more than once.

I lived slap bang in the middle of Greenwich for years....the kids lived in Greenwich Park in the summer and went to school on the Meridian Line....my son and a couple of other kids got to officially open some thing in the observatory with Prince Andrew when he was about 10.

And as I say, I've Viewed St Michael's Mount from the shore.

I've never been over to St Michaels Mount but the rest of the have and reckon its really boring...much better to sit at a cafe at Marazion and look at it whilst having a coffee or an ice cream.

I thimk the thing that would be most exciting about it would be Walking over when the tide was out and having to get a boat back because the tide was in. Watching the tide come in woud be good too.

Alton Towers, Blackpool and Stonehenge.

I don't think it's on the list but I would recommend Ironbridge by the River Severn, Shropshire, I went there on a school geography trip and it is a lovely place.

I think Neolithic Orkney must be added to my list of places that i should visit!

Blimey I've been to loads including the London sights, Loch Ness,Edinburgh Cathedral. Bath, Portsmouth Dockyard, Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral. Also Alton Towers and Blackpool (not really sure why they're on the list!)

I love going to Alton Towers the twisty roads leading to it are great. Longleat and Stonehenge ive been to. Hadrians wall didnt think much to that place.

But other places i love that ive been to not listed are

Thats definitely what i would have put as my top thing to see. I love it there and there is nothing like it anywhere else here.

I can't even remember what I had for me dinner let alone places I went to 20 years ago.

Yes, was top of the list.

The first two times I was there was when you could walk right up to the stones and touch them.

I think I dropped a hanky there.

I did have photos, but I managed to lose my phone before I got them off.

How did Alton Towers make it on there? It's not a sight. It's a theme park  It's not historic or beautiful
