Britain’s Got Talent contestant Andrew Derbyshire has ‘secret links’ to Amanda Holden, it had been claimed today.

The 31 year old office worker and performer from London, originally from Burnley, wowed the judges last night with an epic performance of Somebody Else’s Guy to get all four judges – including Simon Cowell – on their feet.

On the show Andrew spoke about his past on shows including Pop Idol and the West End.

This morning it was claimed that Andrew previously shared a management company with Amanda.

“This will raise a lot of questions among viewers about whether or not Amanda knew Andrew before his audition,” a source told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper.

They added to the tabloid today: “If it emerges that Amanda and Andrew did share an agent then it won’t go down well among the rejected acts.”

But a spokesperson for BGT insisted that any link was complete rubbish.

They said: “Amanda Holden and Andrew Derbyshire have never been represented by the same agent.

“There was an article in Andrew’s local paper which did inaccurately report that they shared an agent, however Andrew has never claimed to have had the same agent as Amanda and any suggestion otherwise is completely spurious.”

Andrew has already had to hit back at criticism that he’s faced about being a “professional” act.

He said after his audition aired last night: “I have been in a couple of West End shows but in the 11 or 12 years [since Pop Idol] I’ve done three.

“Critics might say you’re a professional, but there’s a lot of other professionals on BGT.”

Here’s a first look at this weekend’s Britain’s Got Talent 2014 auditions as Jack Pack take to the stage.

It seems that Collabro might have competition as the four piece vocal harmony group impress the judges with a unique cover of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life in their audition

The group are made up of Adam, Alfie, Andrew and Sean and only got together recently.

Britain’s Got Talent 2014 stars the Jack Pack have been accused of lying during their audition

The four piece didn’t mention their showbiz past which has included performing to huge crowds at Wembley Arena to performing alongside Michael Buble.

Adam 28, Alfie 24, Andrew 32 and Sean 32, impressed the panel with a cover of That’s Life by Frank Sinatra to win a spot in the next round.

They said on the show: “We’ve not performed in public before. We’ve done the odd bit of singing in front of our parents, but this is it — it’s a big deal.”

Saying they worked as everything from gardeners to oven cleaners, the group added: “We’ve all done little bits, but nothing on the level we performed at on BGT. I’ve done small local charity events and sing with a community band.”

However its since turned out that each of the singers has quite the past in the music industry.

Adam made it to the X Factor live shows in 2007 and went on to perform in the show’s live tour, as well as supporting Westlife, Sugababes, Sir Tom Jones, Blue and Boys II Men.

Both Andrew and Alfie meanwhile are professional Michael Buble impersonators, with Alfie having even sung alongside the man himself at a gig.

Finally, Sean is a model and actor who has starred alongside Jamelia in music videos.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Adam defended the group.

“I’ve never hidden the fact I was in a group called Futureproof seven years ago and we were lucky enough to support the likes of Westlife and Tom Jones,” he insisted. “I am now in a new group called Jack Pack and when we auditioned for BGT as a group we had never performed to an audience that size.”
