Such lovely words in this thread in tribute to brisket.
(I remember the Mario Twin threads from last summer, too.)

When I first came this forum
It wasn't well known for decorum
But this guy called brisket
Sure took the biscuit
It was impossible to ignore him
His rose avatar caught your eye
It was clear he's a lovely guy
With a kind word for all
He never made you feel small
And was quick off the mark to say hi.
Words to describe him spring to mind
He was witty and gentle and kind
We're so sad he's gone
But he will live on
He's left his wallpaper behind!
That brought a lump to my throat!
A smiley lump though Magic,Soozy!
I wanted to let you all know that I've arranged to have a beautiful sheaf of red roses delivered on behalf of us, in time for the funeral services, which are on Tuesday. Should be obvious why I chose red roses, right?
Many thanks Lori, Rosemary et al ......perfect
I was out with family today, and on the way this morning stopped to get a bite to eat, as I sat at the table my leg bounced a bit as I was enjoying my breakfast.......and I thought of brisket and the leg-bouncing/twitching thread. Hehe, it made me smile.
Incredibly sad news. Brisket was a lovely, warm and caring person who I will miss dearly. Rest in peace, gentle soul.
Haven't been here for a few weeks.........I'm gutted at the news
Everything I want to say sounds trite.
I've said some things on this forum that I should have sat on my hands about
I meant every word I said at the time..........always in the back of my mind I used to feel that Brisket will be disappointed in me for saying that
He had that kind of effect on me.....no one else ever has
You were a one off brisket Top bloke RIP xxx

My heart goes out to brisket,s family and friends for his funeral tomorrow. I pray the sun shines for our dear friend, and he rests in peace, knowing he was loved and respected . Bless you brisket
"Pray the sun shines " is something we say in Scotland xx
My thanks too, as Cupcake says.

Absolutely! Whether it's cloudy or grey - the sun will always shine on brisket IMO.

I agree Soozy....
In case you are interested, the funeral is at 4pm tomorrow. Might be a good time for each of us to have a "moment of silence" in his honor (if you want, of course).
Shall be thinking of brisket tomorrow, and his family, and will raise a smile for him...........thanks Lori for...well just for...........xx
Syd:

Very much appreciated, Lori - thank you.
I had my very own moment of silence and reflection this morning at 8am my time. Spent a few minutes thinking about brisket and what a pleasure he was to talk to and hang out with. Don't now how much pain he was in due to the cancer, but he's now pain-free, and hopefully in a place full of lovely flowers, incredible flowers, and people who don't flick their hair or jiggle their legs, etc.
Mostly, I think about how pleased he would be about the way we've all come together as a community. I hope we can honor him by continuing to respect and appreciate each other in the way that he did each of us.
Sweet dreams brisket.

absolutely, thank you
I thought I'd put his special photo here that Hoochie and Dame got him....
Thats fantastic, i remember seeing this at the time....... brilliant
I've had a little report from someone at the service that I thought you might appreciate:
Our flowers were beautiful, the service was small and understated. The vicar spoke about brisket's talent as a pianist, and how he didn't really like to talk about himself. His "chat room" participation was mentioned as being a big part of his life. "Amazing Grace" was sung. Sounds lovely, doesn't it?
That's the way he would've wanted it I think Lori.
Lovely Lori, it sounds like it was a very fitting ceremony x
Thank you for letting us know Lori, he meant such a lot to us its nice to know that we featured in his life and gave him happiness.
So pleased you got a little report back Lori, the vicar seemed to sum him up perfectly x
