I wanted to let you all know that I've arranged to have a beautiful sheaf of red roses delivered on behalf of us, in time for the funeral services, which are on Tuesday. Should be obvious why I chose red roses, right?

I've also made a personal donation to the British Heart Foundation, in his honor.

Seems fitting Lori and everyone at Gaga

I'm in the middle of making an online donation to the BHF in memory of brisket, but it's asking me for the name and address of the next of kin...does anyone know if it's ok just to leave that blank? Sorry to ask, I'm probably being a bit thick.

Try it Queenie, and see what it says?

I just left it blank. Worked just fine.

I've just remembered how I drove him insane with the "Mario is a twin " fixation.

Lori and Rosemary. Thank you so much for how you've all engaged with our feelings about brisket.

For brisket and Blousey.  Great work!

Here's my attempted response.

There once an FM known as Blizzie

(She certainly wasn't a Thin Lizzie).

So while Xochi and Blizz

Got in a right proper tizz,

With a fond smile and a frown,

Our  dear brisket looked down

And said 'Ladies, I'm just far too busy'.

Marg! So glad I was here just after you posted!

I will post this for you and all others who may have read the 'All is Well' poem for the first time. After a week running around trying to focus my poor Dad's head to what he needed to listen to from all his 4 kids, my Mum's carer's Mum sent my Dad a condolence card with that poem! He has chosen to have it read for her funeral on the 24th!

I'm so happy/sad because when I hear it I will have my friends here and of course brisket in my mind to help me through it too!

Thank you Gaga and my FMs and most of all brisket for letting this happen for me! xxx

Xochi

When I first came this forum

It wasn't well known for decorum

But this guy called brisket

Sure took the biscuit

It was impossible to ignore him

His rose avatar caught your eye

It was clear he's a lovely guy

With a kind word for all

He never made you feel small

And was quick off the mark to say hi.

Words to describe him spring to mind

He was witty and gentle and kind

We're so sad he's gone

But he will live on

He's left his wallpaper behind!

I CAN do Haiku (who can't??):

brisket, shining light

encouraging words always

friend to all he met

it only takes a few words

i was brought up on filthy limericks ..............I find it all too easy (they're not necessarily good) - I  used to do them for my kids all the time - about teachers, friends pets etc. It's good fun.
