Various shops/supermarkets etc are having promotions running.I know ASDA has tickled pink pyjamas etc for sale.
I've had 3 lumps removed from my right breast, 2 when I was 19 and a 3rd late twenties, thankfully all benign. My latest mammogram and scan showed up Macrocalcifications which âI've been told not to worry about. This is very close to heart. Hugs for everyone who going through this terrible disease or has lost someone.

Bumping to keep this going.
My Mother died of Breast Cancer - 15 years ago , last Saturday - she was just 58 when she died. I do support the charities etc and I feel In should be on the list for a mammogram as I'm 51 but I've not heard from my GP for a check, they reckon every woman over 50 will.
I should have read this before starting my thread just now - got some of the answers I needed from here.
All the best to all of you affected.

90 men die from breast cancer every year in the UK,I think we rarely consider the fact that men can also be victims of this dreadful illness.
I can't read most of this thread, it's really weird.

Yes when my aunt was undergoing her initial treatment, there was a man there who was diagnosed at the same time she was, sadly he didn't make it.

My GP recommends them for all women over 50, or who have a significant family history.
I think this should be lower in age tbhReference:

As I said above, my late Mum died of breast cancer 15 yrs ago at the age of 58 (she was 58 for 3 wks) but my GP still says 'check yourself' - at 51 myself, I still feel I should be entitled to some sort of check, I live in Wales btw - my Mum's family is riddled with all sorts of cancers. Mum was the 10th of 11 children and her sister (18 months younger than her) died 36 hours later of a cancerous tumour on her kidney (she neglected it for siatica until her 'optician' told her to contact her GP). So eye checks tell stories too.My cousin died of stomach cancer (like my maternal grandad) at the age of 49 - the list goes on - Mum's elder sister died of ovarian cancer (no children).Bumps post.
It worries me frankly that I will not be called for a mammogram until I am 50, my aunt has had breast cancer, and had to have a mastectomy and she was told that as a close blood relative, I would be called earlier, probably when I was about 40, well 43 now and still waiting.... I check my breasts every month as recommended, and thankfully nothing, but I would still like the peace of mind a mammogram would give me.

and I think there lies the thing, we would all like the peace of mind by having one, I check myself all the time and have already had a lump removed, which thankfully was just a blocked duct, but the waiting to find that out was excruiating, and when I had the scan, I was too young at the time for a mammogram, they told me I had very lumpy breast tissue, so it scares me that I will miss it even though I check mine monthly
This topic is currently close to my heart, as my nan was diagnosed a few weeks ago...she started her treatment the other day..
