I would love breakfast in bed..... as long as it was a full English

Your not alone... I can never eat as soon as I wake up, I have to get showered, changed and fully ready before I eat in the morning.

Well.....I've never had breakfast in bed so I wouldn't know really.  I live on my own though 

Naaaaaah - not for me .......very occasionally on a Sunday if my husband has had to go out early he'll wake me with a breakfast in bed - fll English - eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausage ............the lot. ( I think there's an ulterior motive )  - I always try to tell him in the nicest possible way that I really don't like it (the breakfast that is) but it falls on deaf ears.

I think eating in bed is a bit rank - we don't even have a telly in our bedroom - the bedroom is for sleeping IMO.

My husband and kids have brought me up some toast, coffee and the Sunday papers nearly every Mothering Sunday since I've been a mum. I'm not allowed to leave the bed (unless I need the loo) until everyone is feed, watered, washed and dressed. I'm looking forward to this Sunday.

I get breakfast in bed almost every Sunday morning.  It's never just as I wake up, I cannot eat then.

But usually Mr Cinds and I lie in until about 11 on a Sunday, then he gets up and makes breakfast while I shower then we eat in bed, then have another little snooze 

Gawd, I miss those days when we'd get the chance 

Nope...I don't care fro much to eat in the morning, so it would be wasted on me. Now a cup of coffee or three, I would consider marrying again for Second thoughts, I'll make it myself 

Well so do I but I have been known to pop downstairs early on a Saturday to feed the cats and mooch back upstairs with coffee and toast or porridge so I can curl up in bed with my book. 

I've often pondered the benefits of a teasmade...

Could you send him around mine then please Soozy We never have breakfast in bed, cos Mr B doesn't like eating in bed either...

Nah......once I'm up I would have to stay up.

They'll come back.  You just have to wait until they are teenagers and don't really want to interact with you anymore 

I love breakfast in bed, not that it's something I get very often.    but nothing beats breakfast in the bath - a bacon and tomato sandwich and a huge vat of Earl Grey tea. 

Can you still get them? My grandmother had one...

My baths are always right up to the ears - how do you avoid a soggy sandwich?

I like a shower, clean clothes - and then if someones cooking it for me - stretched out on the sofa eating brekkie!

OMG id LOVE a teasmaid!!!!! I say they need to revamp them to be all modern and funky. I cannot think of anything better than a cup of tea waking you up!!!!!

I think im dead lucky, i get breakfast in bed quite a lot (3 times this week ) and it was lovely. today it was poached eggs and spinach on toasted fresh baguette and two cups of tea   we like food in this house

Soggy bread!! 

We had a really cool Russel Hobbs teasmade as a wedding present - we used it for a few years but I have no idea what happened to it. We've moved around and it's one of those things that just got lost.

Like others I can't eat first thing ....2 coffees and 5 cigarettes is  my perfect breakfast in bed.  Only have time to do that at the weekend.....and sometimes  the occasional lunch in bed on a Saturday depending on the TV footy schedule

Bit like my steamer.......I think I've had it about 5 years and used it about twice in that time. Charity bag collection tomorrow.........I've had thoughts of putting it in the bag with a note explaining and saying I hope it still works  

as i live alone  , breakfast in bed would be the night before's dinner i snuck in with me 

Or ..................you could take up a flask of tea/coffee - croissant - cereal and milk.

for the life of me though - I don't get the attraction of eating where I sleep.

no kidding, i dont like a telly in my room never mind brekkie lol  my room is for sleeping in , that's all

I never get my bread soggy, but often find bits of tomato bobbing around in the water

I like the idea, but not the reality, can't get comfy enough to eat.....have had it cooked for me and brought upstairs, but came down and ate it at the table.....

my thoughts too lol  i accompany brekkie in bed to being in hospital  only time i've had it at an ungodly hour

lol and been so disapointed too....god bless the NHS.....

Can't eat first thing and don't really fancy it anyway.  That said, a nice blokey brings me a cuppa in bed at weekends, so I guess he's my living teasmade/maid

Just injecting a bit of musicality to the thread!

I'm on holiday this week and I've had a cup of tea bought up to me every morning. Not keen on eating in bed though

He's well trained an absolute diamond, Justy. 

(I think he only does it to get me up so that I'll turn on the coffee machine which he can't work!)

Suzy, when my kids were small, they were going to bring me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day....but I'm an earlier riser (and I run in the morning). So, I got up, crept out for my run, crept back in and had a shower before I popped back in bed for breakfast.

The only time I've enjoyed breakfast in bed was when someone asked me to eat cornflakes off him.

did he have crunchy nuts..?
