The struggling series recorded an average of 900,000 viewers for an hour-long episode on Saturday night.

It was the smallest audience for the nightly round-ups of the programme since it launched in 2000.

The reality show moved to Channel 5 this year after it was axed by Channel 4.

But the revamped version — which started two weeks ago after  Celebrity Big Brother, won by Paddy Doherty — hasn't pulled in the  viewers.

It had an audience of three million for its opening night — but that quickly dropped to 1.4 million.

Although Saturday editions of the show have usually seen viewing  figures dip, the smallest audience during its 11 series on Channel 4 was 1.5 million in 2009.

Channel 5 refused to comment on the figures.

Why can't they just put their hands up and admit they got it totally wrong?

I'm pretty sure that if they introduced Live Feed the rating would soar (though maybe not to the levels they might have seen if there had been LF from the start) and the set up costs would be quickly recouped from greater voting numbers.

I have watched BB the last few nights( I so tried to stay clean) I struggle with the producers spoon feeding me what they want me to see.Rebecca is nasty and I hope she is out but I will not lose money or sleep over the outcome.
