I'm surprised the elf and safety people allowed the teacher to have a coffee anywhere near the pupils.
And now we know why it shouldn't be allowed!
Seeing as it was a primary and apparently the boys didn't realise the seriousness of what they'd done, lets hope they were very very young.

It is believed the two pupils belonged to a gang at the school who called themselves 'The mafia', who had drawn up a 'hit list' of six teachers.

At 10yrs old could you ever imagine having a 'hit list' !!!???
They didn't realise the full implication of their actions. What you don't see so much these days, is those public information films about bleach and so forth. They should still air stuff like that. There's enough commercial breaks these days to fit them in.
Is there nothing the gutter press won't stoop to in their attempt to demonise children
