Are you thinking of Gary Glitter ? He is on the Sex Offenders List for life.

Boy George was released from prison for having imprisoned a male escort, but was still out on licence and the probation service refused to let him be in CBB at the time - that was a couple of years ago, and the licence period is over.

Yes Boy george was supposed to go on it last time, but he was in the middle of a court case...  And yes I think he 'may' be a convicted sex offender... Not exactly sure what happened or what he did...  wasnt he accused of tying someone up and doing sexual things to them?

It's odd, but when I see the words "Sex offender" I automatically think of Paedo's and rapists rather than other things as well.  I don't know why I can't remember that it can mean much more than that.
