From memory, I think she'd say some of the fillers (Restylane etc) are worth a go, but Botox is poison - avoid.

Why what does Botox do??

It's toxic in bigger doses - gives people botulism which is fatal.
I've never had it but I'd avoid it. Even Dannii Minogue has given it the heave-ho. She said she needed facial expressions to judge X-Factor! Big Grin

Embrace your lines and avoid the trap of wanting to look younger....its only cosmetic surgery companies feeding off womens insecurity making a buck without proper research into the longterm effects of such poisons and chemicals.

I hate the fact that women are scared to grow older and look older and become wise women for their daughters ,instead they are trying to compete with them.

Submit yourself to the process and you will find your power and truth lies not in fillers but in fulfillment!

I've tired fillers (once) - no likey. Shake Head
And I've also tried botox once as well.

I have a deep frown line between my eyes so thought I'd give it a go. It worked without making me look like a startled rabbit... Laugh
It also stopped me getting tension headaches too.
Didn't hurt at all. Smiler

Hi Karma.

I've had both but found botox to work better and last longer. Fillers felt too lumpy, imo whereas the botox was much smoother without being overly stretched....but that's all down to how much you have. It's better to err on the side of caution and have a top up if it's not enough.

But I like to be able to move my forehead still! So just a tiddly amount was used.

You'll be surprised at how just a bit between the brows can make so much difference; I didn't need any on my forehead (cos I is naturally unlined everywhere else Razzer)

Blimey, how do you know my mum? Eeker Laugh My mum spent ÂĢ12k on having her teeth done and they look awful IMO. She also had Botox in her forehead and around the creases of her mouth and it made her look really weird. She turned 60 this year and looks amazing for her age but she's trying so hard to look younger it's actually having the reverse effect. I feel quite srry for her really.

I wondered if anyone would respond to this daring idea of empowering themselves rather than becoming a slave.

Your Mum could have spent that money enriching her life instead of a cosmetics company!

Karma, don't go to anyone who sounds needle happy!
The girl that does mine is a reg. nurse specialising in skin/cosmetics etc., and she's never pressurised me into going OTT - the opposite in fact.

See that's what put me off. I sent them a picture of me smiling (the one that's currently on my FB) and the bloke rang me and started talking about facelifts and all sorts. I was not impressed Mad Red Face

I don't get it either. She actually admitted a couple of months ago that she spends up to ÂĢ800 per month on creams and cosmetics. I know it's her money and she can do what she likes with it but I find the whole thing a bit obscene. It doesn't even make her happy because she's always obsessing about her looks. Frowner

Hmmm...From a photo???? No way!

Also, never have any botox below the eyebrows - otherwise, as already mentioned, you get the Minogue Moosh. Big Grin
