Am half watching Naked and the Homer-phobic joke reminded me I bought Odyssey and Iliad and have read neither.
Any books you've bought and not read or tomes you have been meaning to but have never gotten around to?

Nice. which half is naked?
I lied.
Anyway, Drama, any dusty volumes you want to read but haven't? I've never got to the end of Don Quixote either.

No time at the moment. If the end is any good, let me know.
I started the Odyssey Antiope but really it is just a big "Boys Own" annual for the Ancient Greeks. So I put it down, much to the chagrin of my eldest who is made on all things classical.
I started reading "Human Traces" and loved it. Then I went off reading for a while so am going to have to finish it. I also want to read "Birdsong",
At the moment however I am reading "Gone with the Wind" as I haven't read it for years.
I've had Les Miserables sitting on the table for the last 3 months. I just keep renewing it but I am busy with knitting and decorating and never seem to have time.
I recently read a David Gibbins (or Giddins) book which quoted bits of the Ilyad and Odyssey and the writing seemed really evocative and interesting so I may well have a read if I get the time
Loved to read in bed...now I need reading specs, I have a pile of books I should have read...not the same when me specs are lopsided on me eyes cos of the pillow......
The Crippled God
try this one out - Alex Cross's Trial, a James Patterson thriller. good read
Erm.... the list of books I have read would be waaaaay shorter then the books I have to read.
I bought Stephen King's IT last September, I've read the first 225 pages, considering its 1376 pages long... that ain't good
I've read IT Rawky, you're right it is long but I enjoyed it. Stephen King has a real grasp of the relationships kids have with eachother and their view of the world.
I loved the IT film as well although the book is slightly different

Am going to ask for one for Christmas from daughter who mocks me....
Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis I was bought it as a birthday present a couple of years ago - read the first few chapters then put it down as it was sooooooo boring
I'm a voracious reader and this is the only book I have never finished - this coming from the person who has actually read War and Peace

He does like to waffle Veggie. I've seen the film before but everyone says that the book is so much better. I will finish it...one day.
i bought my OH a book i saw on 'mudmen' programme on the history channel
its called
'harris's list of covent garden ladies'
its like some bloke wrote short notes about all the prostitutes in that area and logged it
he tells you where they live, what they look like and their little quirks and how much they charged
i know its strange but like they said on 'mudmen' you get to see a bit of someones life who otherwise you would never have heard of
i mean to nick it when she's read it
Last book I read was about Fred and Rose's antics in Cromwell Street. I bought it whilst Christmas shopping.
Anyway, most recent unfinished book was a Val McDairmid (sp) book about that pathologist bloke. And that's cause I can't get Robson Green out my head whenever he appears and I can't stand the ferrety little turd.
I keep starting and stopping with this book
I blame the Tudor's on TV, all these books i am into at the moment, and does not help by the fact that they are all out in WHS ,buy one get one half price.
Nothing like a bit of sumptuous Historical frolic to read. Especially when they are based on parts of the truth.
Harry Potter books, i have the whole collection. But has anyone ACTUALLY read them? I started, but lost interest, my kids never read them either.................

Do you find them for childrens reading? I know my kids, who are intelligent, got a bit lost in too many characters etc. The films were perhaps a bit better, havent seen the either....
Always meant to read Catch 22 but never got round to it.
Anyone recommend it?, I've seen the film

It's good. The convoluted twisting of logic and ideas tickled me greatly. Excellent stuff.

I remember my daughter loving the book and telling me to read it, which i didnt. She isnt here at the moment or she would discuss it with you x Pointless post really
I read about 1/2 the first Harry Potter book and gave up. Never understood significant numbers of adults reading that stuff. Felt like I was 12 trying to read that stuff.

then i carried on and kept reading them over again
films are great
but my imagination is better
Good pirate x I read a lot of books as a child, there was nothing else. Now kids have so much. that their concentration levels are low. It is easier to watch a film than read a book, sad eh? x
I used to read all the time, i loved it, was totally addicted, now i dont read at all. Last book i read was in 2008
