...Games you use to play as a whipper snapper? What were they? Lets see how far back in time we will go.

One Board Game I use to play EVERYTIME was one called 'Ghost Castle', the aim was to get your 'piece' to the top of the castle but after every roll you had to drop a skull into the turret of the castle which would activate a random trap that could potentially knock you back to the beginning of the board.

It was aces

And someone has even posted a video of it on youtube

....yeah...the videos pretty dull

I never played ghost castle although I'm sure my boys had it

As a kid I had the usual ones I suppose, draughts, ludo, snakes and ladders etc.
Plus Monopoly, Scrabble, Cluedo

My favourite board game is backgammon, I play whenever I can get someone to give me a game

I remember Frustration - it was great fun and Operation was one we played a lot

I wasn't quite so young when it came out but Risk was a great favourite for some years with us - caused many a tiff

Operation should have been called Frustration, IMO.
I could never do it!

As for Risk, it caused a massive row about two years ago, at Christmas. I was winning, at the time.

I bought my kids a Harry Potter game years ago that was soooo complicated that I just used to sit there and throw the dice and they would do all my moves for me.

My Dad taught me (he had a set made out of percussion caps from heavy calibre shells that he put together in Saudi Arabia)
I taught my Daughter and she loves it too

I'll have to break the set out over Xmas

Its an african game....can just be played with stones....

We are partial to cards, i bought a new Crib bpard only a couple of weeks ago,....we like Chase the Lady (or hunt the .... as we also say down here

) and Nominations is great.

I still have this and we always play it at Christmas - you have to bid for famous paintings, which range in value from £1000000 to a forgery. The values change every time so it's no good remembering the value of a painting for the next time!!

I never ever had Operation and always wanted it. I remember the mother in the advert for it saying 'can I have a go?' in a very odd way. *goes off to search you tube*

Don't let the leaves fall is the main game I can remember playing as a small child.
