I could never vote for a party like the bnp but politicians should take note that people are fed up with the way that political parties across the board exploit the race aka / immigration argument as an excuse to allow employers to exploit the minimum wage etc.

I'm not right-wing ... in fact, I support the Irish Labour Party, but we are all asking the exact same questions of politicians ...

The BNP have always figured in local elections, theyâve no chance though of getting into Westminster never mind anywhere near government - theyâre no more of a threat now than they were before.
Tory gains are far more disconcerting for me, because THEY WILL get into government.
Once bitten twice shy as far as Iâm concerned - not so long ago the English were merrily voting the tories (who routinely shit on my country from a great height) back into power for a third time, so I guess itâs deemed OK to treat certain groups of people as second class citizens.

Anyway... those Brits who feel disempowered by this nonsense, and I suspect that the number is ever-increasing, are easy targets for parties such as the BNP and with a little clever propaganda and manipulation - gotcha!
I've long believed that governments secretly like racism no matter how loudly they bleat about it.
While we are all watching/complaining/feeling resentful about what another group may or may not have the politicians are slipping under the radar and bleeding the lot of us dry.

have to agree with ya, I HATE the BNP and everything they stand for, but they have a long way to go before they could even HOPE to run this country,...it just wouldnt happen, and I doubt that the good people of this country would ALLOW it to happen,
BUT its almost a certainty that we WILL have the Tories back after the next election, and people think things will be "better" under them???, despite the fact that they aint got any policies
(that I have heard anyway)
I thik its just the British way...we have one lot in for a few years...people start to grumble, we change to the "other" lot cause well....THEY will make everything ok (despite the fact WE voted em out in a BIG way LAST time cause the WHOLE country was sick to death of em)
some people dont think for themselves, its now "fashionable" to take the piss out of Gordon Brown...for the way he looks the way he speaks etc etc, and the sheep just follow,
some people want the tories back because THEY did quite well personaly last time they were in power, ya know the old, fcuk thy neighbour I am alright jack the country can go to bollox so long as I am doing ok, attitude, that the Tories love,
but I feel most people just have very short memories OR are too young to remember life under the Tories....well I think they are about to find out,

I was among the number who celebrated the end of tory rule, at last (I thought) there'd be change, well 12 years and 3 wars up the road new labour have stripped us of so many of our hard won freedoms that I cannot think about them without feeling queezy.

yip I agree with ya CO, I remember that "glorious" day very well, I had wished and hoped for it though 18 years of the tories, I remember the sun was shining and somehow the air felt CLEAN and when I got into work I had never seen so many people with big beaming smiles on their faces at the START of the day haha,
people were shaking hands hugging each other punching the air etc,
HOW let down do we feel now?..it was certainly almost a case of,
meet the new boss,...same as the old boss,

It was a great day that.. I remember the MayDay rally up here that year, real optimism and celebration. Didn't take that long to realise it hadn't gone the way we thought though.
