I'm thinking of getting one and have asked for John Lewis vouchers for christmas. Anyone got any thoughts on them? Are they that more superior? I've got a Virgin V+box which can record progs as well as a DVD hard drive recorder downstairs. I was thinking of moving the recorder upstairs and getting a blue ray player to watch films and stuff on downstairs.

Thanks Slimmy, I know you can put 'ordinary' DVD's in them (but not the other way round) and they upscale them to near blue ray quality. So I was thinking, do I just need to keep buying dvd's?
IMO..Blue rays films are few & far between at the mo, plus you pay a few quid more for them..I would give it a couple more years before investing...watch the prices drop considerably or something else take its place! Having said that they do have better quality of film! is up to you!
