What's your favourite Champagne profile?

It was Krug NV but I'm unsure of it now...

In the more sane cash bracket Louis Roederer NV is a v. satisfying tipple.  Very classy wine.  Bolly is getting back on it's feet again.

@ ÂĢ16 I'd buy Pelorus from New Zealand.  Pisses all over French fizz at twice the price.  Or Roederer's Californian effort.  That is a very good wine.

Desert island would be Krug 1990 or Dom Perignon 1996.

Did you really want to ask me this?

yes!!  Mr L is in to his wines!  I'm interested as I often get lectured about the wines I choose!!

Fizz is of particular interest to me as I am quite fussy about it and Veuve to me has a nice crisp taste!  But is cheap, the bubbles are too big and it's popular now so many people get a bit stuffy about admitting they like it!

But thanks for sharing!!

"...Laurent Perrier Rose..." .....is a hunk of fucking junk.  Seriously, not a well made wine and ridiculously priced.  Do not buy it.  Ever.  It's a fucking insult to your mouth.
Bloody forums slow.

Individual taste profile...I disagree with you, I think it's delicious.

That's why I hate being lectured my Mr L on wine etc as everyone has their own preference!  What's fabulous to one person is another persons glass of piss!

Ooh Prof, do you know about wine? Do you know anything about St Emilion? I want to buy a really good bottle for a birthday present for a friend but I don't drink red wine and know nowt about it. I did try searching the net but it left me really confuddled.

I can't be arsed saying no.....so, yes.

How much you got to spend?  Cheval Blanc is the big boy in St Emilion but you're looking at 150 plus for a bottle of that.

What you thinking, tenner?  Fifteen?  Twenty?  Fiver?

Lacey, the LP Rose is just grossly over-priced.  Whatever one's taste.  What is it, 45 nicker a btl now?  If not more. It just isn't a wine at that price point.
Yes I agree it is a bit over priced, although as I said I am quite partial to a glass at special occasions (when I'm not actually paying for it, someone else is)!

That's why I like the Veuve, nice and affordable!

Hi Prof, I was in Tescos and saw a bottle of St Emilion for 15 quid and then I saw one in Lidl half price for a tenner so I bought them both but then I worried that they would be pants. Like I said I did try surfing the web but there was so much info about these wines that I got really confused.
I would like to get my mate a good bottle but don't know what to choose - I could maybe go up to 40 quid if that was the only way.
