Never been but two of my sons have on their way back from the Lake District with their grandparents. They said it was awful, full of fat people who were all stuffing their faces.

From what i've seen of it on TV and that, it looks like the sort of place I'd hate, too commercial...like Great Yarmouth....have been there and that is one great shithole that only a nuke could cure!

love blackpool...once i went with my pal for a girly weekend we went to funny girls and this guy in there thought we were part of the act.
My other half and I went there a few months ago.One of the best nights out we have ever had. We stayed at the North end and only went into Blackpool for the show. We will be doing it again next year.

Did the very same thing as you, Sezit.
Got invited years ago to the opening of the then new ride - some sort of bobsleigh thing with the GB bobsleigh team in attendance....which shows just how long ago it was as the ride is no longer there.   Then we all piled on and gave out a few screams to indicate it was fun when it was actually quite tame.  I much preferred the old wooden Grand National ride.
Stayed at The Imperial (tram ride back along the seafront), where a load of politicians were bunkering down for their party conference at the time, and ended up in a lift with Peter Shore & Dennis Healey

I agree Katty. We used to always go down September weekend when I was young.

Still love it - me and my other half were then in July in fact.

I love the nostalgia - it's a bit run down but it's great to see them trying to revamp the seafront at least.
