Is the only movie that makes me cry. I really don't understand why that is. Does anyone else have certain movies that do this to them?

I'll have to look out for that. I've never seen it
The ones that spring to mind initially are BORN FREE, CRY FREEDOM, and IN THE NAME OF MY FATHER.

lots of animal ones make me cry - cant bring myself to watch Marley and Me (or whatever it is called) cos i was told it has a sad ending
lassie come home
gorillas in the mist
Turner & Hooch (Hooch's puppies romping around at the end does NOT make everything alright... he died ffs!!)
Yeah... so any film with a hurt animal... with a slightly dishevelled animal... can;t watch em. I even struggle with cowboy & indian films when the horse go down... even though I know they are stunt horses.
Not quite as moved when its peeps though.
Oh.. apart from "About last Night"... I used to cry at the bit when rob lowe tells demi moore he doesn't love her anymore. I must be a hardened old bint now, cos watched it recently and it didn't even make me frown!

Brokeback Mountain makes me cry.
I try to fight it - but I can't and I always cry.

I kinda get a warm feeling from that. I know he's dead but just to see that one of the pups is exactly like him just makes it all betterReference: brisket

Me too - at the end, when he's looking at the two shirts. And then there's obvious stuff like Schindler's List, which is unbearable.
The first film that ever really made me cry though, was one called Escape From the Dark. It was about a group of kids who try to save a team of pit ponies from their life toiling underground. Then at the end, there's an explosion in the mine and their favourite pony, Flash, gets killed. I saw it in the cinema when I was about 7, and I sobbed and sobbed.

IN THE NAME OF MY FATHER.
I don't cry to many, but In the Name of the Father, yes... and the black and white film with James Cagney being dragged off the the gas chamber/electric chair. He pretends to breakdown so that these kids he befriended would read that and not see him as a hero. I am welling upReference:

'Angels with Dirty Faces'. First time I saw that I blubbed for about an hour afterwards. I cry at most stuff. I cry at the end of 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' for God's sake. I once subjected my 7 year old son to an embrrassing situation in the cinema when we were watching 'The Iron Giant'.; when he flies off into the sky to 'take the bullet' for humanity crying, "Suuuuuperman!" I cried so hard my shoulders shook. My boy was mortified.

That's the one sub!! Gets me every time.
Lots of films especially sad animal films but the one than never fails every time I see it is Zulu which was a true story, I cry at the end when the Zulu's hailed them for being so brave and spared them their lives

I haven't seen Zulu. But it reminds me of Gallipoli (don't know why!!). That made me cry. It was so tense, and heartbreakingly sad..
The first time I ever saw Ghost I cried, and cried. Me and my pal were too embarrassed to leave the cinema cos of our puffy eyes.
gosh I never realised that people were so moved by movies. I must be a hard b!tch

final words = âIâll be right here.â The Deerhunter when they are forced to play Russian Roulette I think is a very powerful & Sad scene.
I was a bit disappointed in Billy Elliott. Thought the family relationships were, but not keen on the dancing element. One of the few times I have seen Julie Walters mis-cast.
But caught the ending of it the other night. When his friend, brother and father went to see him at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
The pride in the father's face and the fighting back of tears is most touching, and makes me moist (eyes that is.)
Incidentally the guy who danced the swan at the end (Billy as an adult) was Adam Cooper, a great dancer and choreographer who you can still catch in White Christmas at The Lowry, Salford until 9th January.

brisket! That's like saying I enjoyed Jaws, but it could have done without all that stuff about the shark..
I know Deman.
I expressed it poorly.
(Oh, I should have said "thought the family relationships were good")

I saw Billy Elliott on the stage and my friends daughter had a small part - her grandparents were sitting in front of me and I was welling up at how proud THEY must be! lol . Also when there is a scene with his dead mother i was like this
The History Boys When they sing Bye Bye Blackbird
Make my bed, light that light,
I'll be home late tonight,
Blackbird..bye, bye...

I'm not one given to crying at films but the one that had me choked up was Once Were Warriors very moving yet equally disturbing film.

such a brilliant movie. My MIL was one of the campaigners in NZ that made R illegal in marriage & then that brought it out into further circles so this movie is very close to our hearts
Can't watch Lassie or any film like that because I cry like a baby. Ghost still makes me cry, me and my mate (who was 8 months pregnant at the time) went to see that in Brum when it came out and we hadn't got waterproof mascara on. At the bus stop going home, a girl said have you been to see Ghost? As her and her mate had been exactly the same.
Silly things make me cry in films, like I was watching Gremlins before Christmas and the scene where Gizmo spends his first night in the house, totally reduced me to tears, in fact I am filling up again thinking about it!
My hubby "always gets something in his eye" watching the end of Apollo 13 when it all goes quiet on the radio and you think the worst has happened, them Tom Hanks says something and they all realise they are ok. Oh speaking of Tom Hanks, the scene at the end of Forrest Gump reduces me to a snivelling wreck, where he is talking to Jenny's grave under "their" tree

Mine's Jesus Christ Superstar for some weird reason.
My mum banned me from watching it when I was 13 cos I would cry so much.
My son didn't inherit my sensistivity to it. I took him to watch it at the theatre when he was about 10..... he was very underwhelmed. When Jesus was dying at the end (very slowly and dramatically.....you could hear a pin drop in the theatre) he said in a VERY loud voice...."oh for god sake die already"
