This is so much down to luck...if someone's pot explodes because they made a mistake with thickness or air bubbles and so on it could smash a perfect one next to it that someone else made

Sorry that should read fettler ...and I think it’s someone who smooths , knocks of any rough bits from the pots ....before they are fired ....I think
