When they want to get the money in they always say it's very close or whatever, but they don't reveal the percentages any more

It might be a bit different now that Dirty Desmond doesn't own C5 anymore, but when C5 took over BB the HMs were contractually obliged to give their first mag deals to his rags for free. And because none of the other papers or mags could therefore get "exclusives", they weren't prepared to pay much either...
