One of the things you have to remember is that BB does a lot of psychological tests on the HMs, and so - Derren Brown style - they can predict how they will act a lot of the time. Remember Mackosi being picked for all those secret tasks in BB6? I still maintain that BB created a lot of those (e.g. the "red button" task) knowing that she'd go straight for them...

Actually I think their assumption that the "sexy" HM would be dim is way off the mark in Laura's case, but with girl HMs always going first they may have lucked-out and helped get rid of a potential major threat.
