"Put your mouth over it - I'd be so proud of you"
I bet he would
I'm waiting for Mark to say,
"Big Brother - you've got me exhausted, I've given my all.
You've sucked me dry"
See if he doesn't
Now, do I go for the obvious?

I agree Kaytee. I will have a second bowl of Corn Flakes instead.

In Darkness is a true story about a man who risked his life to hide Jews during the war.
AFTER the movie was finished they actually found one of the people he saved.
She watched the movie and said it was so accurate she wouldn't have asked for anything to be changed.
The epilogue is utterly heart breaking and if you don't well-up you don't have a heart.
Utterly brilliant

I just turned over to watch Saint, after watching BB, I can't watch the real heart wrenching horror of the film....
It not so much horror as heart rending

It's sounds just a bit too heavy for my Sunday night viewing I'm afraid. I tend to like to go to bed on a comedy or something lighter like Family Guy.

It sounds slightly like The Pianist? that was a heartbreaking film
It not so much horror as heart rending
I just feel I would not be doing the horror and heart rending reality people went through or the film justice if I watch it now after watching BB Saint...xxx
Highly recommended if you come by it again.
As I said the epilogue is an "Oh no" moment, truly tragic.
It would make us all better people for having watched it

Have you watched, 'Defiance', with Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber? Another brilliant film
Thank you Bethni - I will defo try and watch that
Wish BLOCKBUSTERS was still here Miss it so much
Can I also add,
"Escape from Sobibor"
The saddest films and books I have seen, read, have been through children's eyes, those from both sides, a childhood shaped by war.......the resilience and joy found by children makes me cry typing this......
A book I would recommend is "Clara's War" by Clara Kramer.
A true account of a child and family who were hidden under a neighbours house - as the Nazis closed in.
Another is "Winter in the morning."
A 13yr old girl's account of life in the Warsaw Ghetto.
Another is "Winter in the morning."
A 13yr old girl's account of life in the Warsaw Ghetto.
Her follow up is called "Beyond these walls"
The saddest thing Saint, is, as we sit here and type, there are children around the world living in war zones, also children living in so called 'peace'....blocking out the 'horror' with the ever hopeful, joyous innocence of childhood, that will have a book in their soul for future generations of 'adults' to weep over.....wondering why?
There's something about WW2 - its different to present conflicts.
Its the cruelty, mass cruelty. The lies, the nerve, the persecution.
The world changing events.
I worked (briefly) for a man called Mr. Science - he was a Russian Jew.
I slept over at his house as his health faltered. He was 99
He told me how, as a boy his family heard how Russian soldiers were going from town to town and persecuting Jews.
So in the middle of the night his family packed all they could and bought their way out of Russia on a ship.
They expected to get to America - the ended up in Hull - a large Jewish settlement at the time.
He married and ended up in Newcastle. He told me he was in a British delegation sent to view ghettos in Warsaw. He said he saw bodies lying in the streets. Sadly he died soon after this story.
I miss him.

I understand fully Saint, my only sadness is that books are written, films are made, tears are shed, time moves on, but nothing seems to change.....xxx
Wish I'd had more time with Mr Science - he had so many stories.
Wish I'd had more time with Mr Science - he had so many stories.
His stories made you think, and made you contemplate...(he left his mark with you)
Stop 'wishing' and start listening to the people around you now, and their stories...
Nite nite Saint, 'til tomorrow (we hope .) xxx
Sir - yes, sir !!
